The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Universe has taken the fight to the clinch.
A head punch on the inside from Universe fails to land.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Darrow creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Darrow tries to work over Universe's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Darrow lands a right hand that snaps the head of Universe backwards.

Universe breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
No joy there for Universe, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Universe tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Darrow was well out of range. Poor timing from Universe.
