Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Beau Callaghan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Soa Silva!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Bruno Hogan and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Callaghan throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Nice sprawl there from Silva as Callaghan shoots in.
Silva throws out a counter right but Callaghan avoids it with no problem.
Silva cracks Callaghan with a good jab.
It looks like Beau Callaghan has been cut.
Silva looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Silva takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Silva moves out of range of the body kick.
Silva is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Callaghan with a body shot.
Callaghan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silva's waist but Silva gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Callaghan off to one side.
Nice uppercut there from Silva.
Silva swinging wildly here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Callaghan tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Silva cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Callaghan is rocked!
Silva cracks Callaghan with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Callaghan falls to his knees and Silva doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Soa Silva!
In his post fight interview, Soa Silva started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
