The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Waters displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Popadyuk.
Popadyuk drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Waters tries to bench press Popadyuk off him but Popadyuk keeps the position.
Waters can't do much from the bottom here.
Waters pushes Popadyuk away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Popadyuk gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
