PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Murpy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Jew Jitsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murpy comes to the cage accompanied by Victory. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Charlie Murpy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Jew Jitsu !
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murpy misses the shot to the body.
Murpy swinging wilding here.
Murpy takes a swing at Jew Jitsu 's ribcage but misses.
Murpy takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Jew Jitsu wants to clinch up but Murpy keeps it at a distance.
Jew Jitsu doesn't manage to clinch there - Murpy circles away.
Jack Jew Jitsu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jew Jitsu tries a head kick but it misses.
Jew Jitsu misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Murpy misses with a few strikes there.
Murpy will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jew Jitsu wants to hold on but Murpy pushes him away.
Murpy throws some wild stikes that Jew Jitsu manages to avoid easily.
Jew Jitsu is looking to improve his position but Murpy isn't that keen on the idea.

Murpy avoids the attempt from Jew Jitsu to control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Murpy has control of Jew Jitsu 's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Jew Jitsu regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Murpy trying to control but Jew Jitsu is having none of it.
Murpy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Jew Jitsu tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Jew Jitsu prevents any damage by holding on tight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Murpy looking to ground and pound but Jew Jitsu is blocking nicely.

Jew Jitsu is wriggling around trying to escape.
Jew Jitsu is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Murpy jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Jew Jitsu is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Jew Jitsu and Murpy has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Murpy tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Murpy has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Murpy tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Jew Jitsu keeps Murpy under control for a moment.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Jew Jitsu can't do much from the bottom here.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Murpy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jew Jitsu 's waist but Jew Jitsu gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Murpy off to one side.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Charlie Murpy will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Jew Jitsu misses with a head kick.

Murpy shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Murpy was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Jew Jitsu tries to lock up and control but Murpy gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Murpy sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Murpy with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Jew Jitsu is squirming around, avoiding Murpy's attempts to control the action.

Murpy looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Jew Jitsu tries to hold on but Murpy pushes him away.

Murpy goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Jew Jitsu is on top in guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Murpy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Jew Jitsu is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Jew Jitsu wants to control from the top but Murpy keeps moving.
Murpy not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Murpy trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Murpy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Jew Jitsu uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Murpy.

Jew Jitsu lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Murpy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jew Jitsu moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Murpy uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jew Jitsu .

The fight stays on the outside here - Jew Jitsu looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Charlie Murpy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

That was a close second round but I would say that Charlie Murpy will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. And we move into the final round!
