Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Edmond Roman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Misko Ivanovic!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Patrick Alders and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ivanovic shoots and misses

and Roman moves into the clinch.

Roman decides to pull guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ivanovic must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Roman doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Roman manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ivanovic manages to get himself to full guard.

Roman drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ivanovic manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Roman has Ivanovic in his guard.

Ivanovic wants to stand but Roman is controlling his posture from full guard.

Roman wants to sweep but no luck.
Roman manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ivanovic manages to get himself to full guard.

Roman might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Roman postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ivanovic is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Roman, into his guard.

Roman is adopting a defensive guard.

Roman escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ivanovic gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Roman is controlling Ivanovic's posture.

Roman has his foot on Ivanovic's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ivanovic works his way back into a safe position though.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Roman bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ivanovic's guard.

Roman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Roman postures up in Ivanovic's guard and throws a big left but Ivanovic blocks it.

Roman decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Roman gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Roman has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Ivanovic is trying to keep an underhook but Roman manages to get the takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Roman is nestled in close to Ivanovic, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Roman is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ivanovic can do to turn this around?
