Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luiz Araujo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Araujo is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Who Shot Ya?. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dave Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Luiz Araujo!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Araujo closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Brown did well to prevent Araujo getting side control.
Araujo thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Brown's head.
Brown wants to get back to full guard.
Araujo is thwarting Brown's attempts to control the position.

Araujo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Brown sees it coming and defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Araujo throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Araujo wants to control but Brown is keeping him busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Araujo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Brown with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Araujo is working for a submission of some sort.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Araujo lands a nice short elbow.

Araujo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Araujo prevents Brown from improving his position.
Araujo is trying to control. Brown wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Brown manages to get to full guard.

Araujo stands up and waves to Brown to follow him.
Brown has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Death Valley Training Facility in the buildup to the fight.
Araujo chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Brown can pounce on him.
Brown connects with a crisp jab.
Araujo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Brown as he avoids it easily.
Brown connects with a looping right hand.

Brown has closed the distance and engaged Araujo in a clinch.
Araujo tries for a takedown. No joy.

Araujo jumps guard and drags Brown to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Araujo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Brown defends it easily.
Brown postures up in Araujo's guard and throws a big left but Araujo blocks it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Araujo working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Brown.
Brown trying to control the position from guard on top but Araujo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Araujo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Brown content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Araujo will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Araujo is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Araujo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Brown doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Araujo is tightening it up a little... Brown has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Brown reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Brown taps out! Nice BJJ there by Araujo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Luiz Araujo!
Luiz Araujo bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
