The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Old misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Old darts in and clinches Pearson up against the cage.

Old turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Old manages to end up in side control.
Pearson tries to bench press Old off him but Old keeps the position.

Old is trying to get an arm triangle but Pearson is defending well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Old trying to control the position from guard on top but Pearson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Old drops back, looking for a kneebar! Pearson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Pearson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Pearson!

Old is looking to reverse the position.

Pearson lands a big shot there that rocks Old but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
