Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Alex Burkhart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oscar Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Trick Daddy - Let's Go ft Twista & Lil Jon kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alex Burkhart! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Oscar Diaz! The judges for this bout are , and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burkhart uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Diaz.
Diaz lands with a right hand. Diaz scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Diaz throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Burkhart wants to get back to his feet but Diaz drags him back down. Diaz throws a strike aimed at the side of Burkhart's head but Burkhart avoids it well. Diaz tries to score with some ground and pound. Burkhart controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Diaz has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Sloppy strikes there by Diaz. Burkhart is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Diaz has just dragged him back down to the mat. Burkhart on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Burkhart tries to get out of the position. Diaz wants to control but Burkhart is keeping him busy.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Diaz slips a straight right by Burkhart.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nice body punch from Burkhart. Burkhart avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Alex Burkhart is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Diaz tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Burkhart was well out of range. Poor timing from Diaz. Diaz jabbing away but nothing is landing. Burkhart misses with a straight left. Burkhart looks to land a combination but Diaz avoids it well. Diaz is looking to clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Burkhart scores with a body shot.
Diaz gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Burkhart. Diaz tries for a takedown but Burkhart sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Burkhart keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Burkhart scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Burkhart swings and misses with a shot to the body and Diaz counters with a lovely straight right hand! A telegraphed right hand from Diaz misses the target. Burkhart lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Burkhart.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Burkhart clobbers Diaz with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Diaz misses with an uppercut. Burkhart saw that one coming. Burkhart loads up on a big right hand but Diaz slips the punch. Burkhart throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Diaz stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. A shot to the body from Diaz misses and Diaz takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Burkhart punishes Diaz's body with a nice straight punch. Diaz takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Diaz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Burkhart makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Alex Burkhart has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oscar Diaz. Diaz looks gassed!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Burkhart keeps the fight on the outside. Burkhart fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Burkhart lands with a hook. Diaz tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Diaz misses the jab. Diaz looks to clinch and Burkhart counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Diaz thinking. Diaz misses with a looping right. Diaz takes a body punch but keeps moving. Burkhart throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Burkhart moves out of range of the strikes. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Alex Burkhart dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Diaz moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. Burkhart looks to score with a jab to the body but Diaz is just out of range. Burkhart lands with an overhand left. Diaz misses with a hook. Diaz shoots in for a takedown but Burkhart shows good takedown defense. Burkhart connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Diaz momentarily.
Diaz ducks under a wild hook from Burkhart. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. Diaz tries to clinch but fails miserably and Burkhart counters with a left to the body. Burkhart is looking to wear down Diaz with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Burkhart misses with a looping left.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burkhart connects with a nice looking jab.
Burkhart moves out of range as Diaz strikes. Diaz looks to land a combination but Burkhart avoids it well. Burkhart ducks down and throws a hook to the body. A slow jab from Diaz misses its intended target. Diaz tries to clinch but fails miserably and Burkhart makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Burkhart wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Diaz is breathing heavily. No luck for Diaz with that takedown attempt. Burkhart fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Diaz has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Diaz there as he acknowledges the shot. Diaz takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him. Diaz drops his hands momentarily and Burkhart takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Burkhart lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Diaz at a distance.
Diaz looks to throw the jab but Burkhart is out of range. Burkhart just misses with a punch to the body.
Diaz throws a half hearted mid kick. Diaz uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Burkhart.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Diaz prevents Burkhart from standing back up.
Diaz missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Diaz wants to work for an arm triangle but Burkhart is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Diaz is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Burkhart is just riding it out for now. Diaz eventually gives up the hold. Burkhart knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Diaz on the ground. Burkhart wants to get back to his feet.

Burkhart is looking to control Diaz's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Burkhart avoid being mounted?

Burkhart fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Diaz manages to avoid it. Burkhart throws a jab but it's blocked by Diaz. Burkhart throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Burkhart throws an overhand right that lands on Diaz's shoulder, as Diaz tries to avoid the shot. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Diaz. Alex Burkhart is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Diaz with a poor takedown and Burkhart cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Alex Burkhart has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Oscar Diaz. Diaz takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Diaz takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Burkhart sizes up Diaz with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Burkhart lands a with a good body shot. Diaz shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Burkhart pinned against the cage. Burkhart gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Burkhart throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Diaz stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Burkhart lands a with a good body shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Diaz throws out a loose jab but Burkhart uses good head movement to avoid it. Burkhart fails to land with a series of punches.
Diaz on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Burkhart throws a hook to the side of Diaz's head but Diaz sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Burkhart connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Diaz's hands. Diaz with a lazy takedown attempt and Burkhart counters with a straight right hand. Diaz scores with a shot to the body.
Burkhart fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Diaz looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Burkhart misses with a looping right. Diaz misses with a body shot.
Diaz throws a shot from downtown. Burkhart moves away and avoids it. Jab from Burkhart. Burkhart misses with an uppercut. Diaz saw that one coming. Oscar Diaz has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Good shot there by Burkhart. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Burkhart connects with a jab. Diaz misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
And that's the end of the fight! Alex Burkhart showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Burkhart, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
