Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Buzz Meeks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gary Wallace! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meeks comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Wallace throws a nice looking combination but Meeks bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Wallace looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. A jab from Wallace does it's job there. Meeks misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Wallace.
A little jabbing left from Wallace on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Meeks misses with a hook. Wallace ducked under it nicely. Wallace throws a sloppy body shot
and Meeks connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Wallace needs to keep his hands up - Meeks had a free shot at his head there. Meeks connects with a nice looking jab.
Meeks misses the jab. Wallace stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Wallace getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Meeks scores with a punch to the head. Meeks walks into a stiff left hand from Wallace.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wallace scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Wallace misses the body punch and Meeks counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Wallace misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Wallace scores with a crisp jab that stopped Meeks in his tracks. Meeks lands a lovely overhand right. Wallace looks to land a right hand but Meeks moved out of range. Wallace punishes Meeks's body with a nice straight punch. Meeks throws a lazy right hand but Wallace sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Meeks connects with a body shot that sends Wallace's belly button to the back. Wallace misses with a right hand enabling Meeks to counter with a crisp jab. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Meeks throws a combination. Wallace tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Wallace misses with a few strikes there.
Meeks was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Nice shot by Wallace.

Meeks lands with a straight right. Wallace didn't see that one coming. A swing and a miss from Wallace. Meeks takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Wallace lands a right hook to the body.

Gary Wallace seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wallace is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Wallace looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. A jab from Wallace misses. Meeks lands with a shot to the body. Wallace throws out a loose jab but Meeks uses good head movement to avoid it.

and Meeks counters with a nice uppercut. Meeks uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Wallace has time to react. Wallace throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Meeks cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Meeks is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Wallace lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Meeks at a distance.
A looping hook to the body misses from Wallace. Meeks does a little dance to reset his feet. Meeks pulls out of a head kick attempt.

and Wallace takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Meeks walks into a stiff left hand from Wallace. Meeks tries to land a front kick but Wallace steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Wallace misses with a two punch combination.
Meeks takes a swing at Wallace's ribcage but misses. Wallace listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Meeks throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Wallace stuns Meeks with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Wallace lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Wallace misses with a looping right. Meeks finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Good shot there by Wallace. Meeks bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. The fighters circling - Wallace throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Meeks throws a jab but it's blocked by Wallace. Wallace looks like he wants to counter punch here. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Wallace looks to score with a jab to the body but Meeks is just out of range. Meeks misses with a straight left. Wallace rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Meeks connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Buzz Meeks will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Meeks throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Wallace counters with a three punch combo that has Meeks backing up. Meeks nods at Wallace to acknowledge the strikes. Meeks throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gary Wallace seems to be getting the better of the standup. A big right from Meeks misses. Wallace clobbers Meeks with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Meeks is rocked! Meeks avoids the body shot from Wallace.
And Meeks counters with a quick kick to the body but Wallace blocks it. Wallace defending well as Meeks loads up on a big left hand. Wallace lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Meeks lands a head shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Meeks fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Wallace with a nice cross. That's two minutes gone in the round. Meeks scores with a decent looking hook. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wallace throws a body shot but no joy. Wallace throws an overhand right that lands on Meeks's shoulder, as Meeks tries to avoid the shot. Wallace swings widly with a right hand
and Meeks makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Meeks looks to throw the jab but Wallace is out of range. Wallace throws a body shot but no joy. Meeks moves out of range as Wallace strikes. It looked like Meeks was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Wallace. Wallace throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Meeks stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. A nice combination there by Meeks.

It looked like Meeks wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Wallace jabs at Meeks's body. Wallace throws a series of punches but Meeks moves out of range. Wallace scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Wallace lands a nice shot that snaps Meeks's head back.

Meeks has been working on his balance at , so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Wallace. Meeks on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Wallace throws a looping overhand right but Meeks ducks down to avoid it. A quick step to the side and Meeks tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Gary Wallace showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Meeks throws a low kick, looking for Wallace's leg but Wallace calmly moves out of range. Nice shot lands for Wallace. Wallace misses with a lunging right hand
and Meeks holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. A head punch blocked on the inside by Wallace. Wallace blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Wallace misses with a short punch on the inside. Wallace tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Meeks's elbow. Meeks misses with a punch on the inside.
A short uppercut from Wallace. Oh Meeks is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Meeks throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Wallaces head. Meeks seems to have got his legs back now. Meeks cracks Wallace with a nice body shot. A shot in the inside from Meeks. A short right hand to the side of the head by Meeks. Meeks lands a nice uppercut. Wallace blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! A shot to the body from Wallace misses and Meeks counters with a straight right hand. Wallace throws a body punch but Meeks moves out of range. Meeks attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Meeks jabs at Wallace's body. Wallace misses with a double jab

Meeks closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Buzz Meeks. I think Meeks has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
