Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Robert Harper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bela Bartok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bartok is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Allegro Barbaro. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Robert Harper! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bela Bartok! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, David Schapiro and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bartok doesn't manage to clinch there - Harper circles away.

Robert Harper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Harper clinches but Bartok breaks the clinch and Bartok counters with a one-two to the body. Harper could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Bartok tries to clinch up and Harper counters with a leg kick. Harper tries to clinch up and Bartok counters by clinching up. Bartok comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Bartok lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
It looks like Robert Harper has been cut. Harper fails to pull the fight into his guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Bartok creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Bartok gets underhooks to prevent Harper's takedown attempt.
With the fighters up against the cage, Bartok throws an elbow but misses. Bartok breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Harper bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Bartok seems a little lost for a moment, as Harper dominates the positioning. Harper is looking to take a break and control but Bartok is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Bartok is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Harper off and has taken his back!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bartok wants to control but Harper is keeping busy. Bartok has good solid back control here. Bartok is looking to control Harper but Harper is wriggling around and keeping busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Harper breaks Bartok's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Harper wants to control from the top but Bartok keeps moving. Bartok can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Harper controls the pace. Bartok is looking to stand up but Harper isn't so interested in that idea. Harper wants to stand but Bartok is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Harper trying to control but Bartok is working from the bottom. Bartok scrambles and gets back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Harper fails with an attempt to clinch.

A close round but Bela Bartok will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Robert Harper's cut. That's time! Harper's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Bartok creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Harper is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Harper prevents Bartok from breaking the clinch. Harper misses with an elbow strike.

Bartok breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Bartok clinches. Bartok ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Bartok no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Bartok looking to control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bartok pulls Harper in close to prevent any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Let's hope that Bartok has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Harper has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Harper trying to control the position from guard on top but Bartok is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Bartok holds on and takes a little breather.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Bartok is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Harper tries to roll over but Bartok keeps him under control. Bartok keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Bartok decides to stand up. Bartok closes the distance and clinches.

Bartok creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Harper's defenses. Harper takes an elbow to the temple. Bartok tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Harper tries to throw a body punch but Bartok avoids it by throwing Harper back against the cage. Harper fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robert Harper. That's going to take a lot out of him. Harper drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Bartok gets the underhooks and prevents it.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Bartok breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bartok shoots in but no luck this time. Bartok moves in looking to clinch but Harper pushes him off. Bartok tries to clinch there but Harper circles away.

Bela Bartok showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Robert Harper's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Bartok will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Harper decides to stand back up. Bartok comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Harper swats away the attempt to clinch by Bartok.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bartok shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Bartok showed some decent athleticism there. Harper wants to improve his position but Bartok is controlling well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Bartok is pressing down on Harper's thigh, looking to free his foot. Harper is holding on for now. Harper tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Harper wants to control but Bartok passes into side.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bartok has control of an arm but Harper manages to advance to Bartok's back! Good control from Bartok. Harper trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble. So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Bela Bartok is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Bela Bartok. Well Bartok has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
