Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, King Mejia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Az Chapman!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chapman slaps away a takedown attempt from Mejia, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Chapman has taken the fight to the clinch.
Mejia goes for a takedown in the clinch but Chapman prevents it.
Chapman looking for a takedown.

Chapman jumps into guard, dragging Mejia to the mat.
Mejia slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Chapman working a defensive guard but Mejia passes into half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chapman tries to roll over but Mejia keeps him under control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Chapman wants to control but Mejia is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mejia passes into side control, despite Chapman's attempt to control the position.
Chapman tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chapman tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Chapman tries to hold on but Mejia pushes him away.
Chapman is trying to escape the mount.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Chapman can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Mejia stands up from mount. Strange move.
Mejia looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Chapman uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Mejia has time to react.


It looks like King Mejia has been cut.
Mejia finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Chapman's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Mejia falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Az Chapman!
