Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
22 - 14 - 5, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Damozzi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Martti Molski! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A jab from Damozzi misses. Damozzi punishes Molski's body with a nice straight punch. Molski fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Damozzi avoids it really well and circles away. Molski throws a right and a left that Damozzi avoids nicely. Damozzi throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Damozzi throws a leg kick but Molski sees it coming and checks it nicely. Damozzi walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Damozzi misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Molski.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Molski has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Damozzi smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. A jab from Molski finds it's way through Damozzi's defenses. Molski is looking to clinch. Molski tries to clinch there but Damozzi circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round. Damozzi scores with a crisp jab that stopped Molski in his tracks. Damozzi fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Molski looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Damozzi throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Molski moves out of range of the strikes. Damozzi slips a straight right by Molski. A quick step to the side and Damozzi tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Damozzi lands a nice shot that snaps Molski's head back.
Damozzi misses with a kick to the body and Molski counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Molski on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Damozzi. Damozzi obviously looking to wear him down.
Damozzi on the wrong end of a nice hook. Molski throws a nice inside leg kick. Damozzi bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Molski's head. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Molski lands with a good body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Molski slips under a jab from Damozzi. Molski scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Molski misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Molski looks to land a right hand but Damozzi moved out of range. Molski lands a body shot.

and Molski counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Damozzi misses with a wild body shot. Molski now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Nice uppercut lands for Damozzi. That snapped Molski's head back.

Molski scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Damozzi blocking the ground and pound attempt from Molski. Damozzi makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Damozzi. Damozzi controls Molski momentarily but Molski frees himself.

And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Damozzi wants to sweep but no luck. Damozzi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Molski's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Molski holds on and takes a little breather. Molski tries to land a sweep but no joy. Damozzi is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Molski lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Molski connects with a couple of short punches. Molski wants to control from the top but Damozzi keeps moving. Molski pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Damozzi is keeping the position for now. Damozzi looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

and Damozzi makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Molski really felt that one! A leg kick checked by Damozzi. Damozzi displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Molski throws out the jab. Damozzi drops his hands momentarily and Molski takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Molski avoids the body shot from Damozzi.
Molski walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Molski jabbing away but nothing is landing. Molski fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Damozzi manages to avoid it. Damozzi feinted there with a counter leg kick. Molski avoids a lazy jab quite easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Damozzi misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Damozzi throws a looping overhand right but Molski ducks down to avoid it. Damozzi blocks a low kick nicely. Molski fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Molski fails with the takedown. Frank Damozzi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Damozzi clobbers Molski with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Damozzi lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Damozzi misses with a hook. Molski is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Damozzi. It looked like Damozzi wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Molski throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Molski misses with a low kick.

Damozzi has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. Molski sizes up Damozzi with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Damozzi misses with a hook. Damozzi throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Damozzi scores with a jab to the body.

The fighters circling - Molski throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Damozzi tries to land a front kick but Molski steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Molski pivots, looking for a leg kick but Damozzi is out of range and Molski settles back down. Damozzi misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Molski.

Molski gets a takedown into half guard. Molski drops an elbow to the side of Damozzi's head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Molski landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Damozzi actively working from the bottom here. Molski trying to control the action but Damozzi is working from the bottom. Damozzi wants to improve his position but Molski is controlling well.

Damozzi throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Molski escapes and throws Damozzi's legs to the side, diving into side control! Molski lands a decent elbow from side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Frank Damozzi will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

That's one minute gone in the round. Molski throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Damozzi stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Damozzi misses with a straight right. Molski stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Damozzi misses with a low kick as Molski jumps back. Molski throws an off balance right hand
and Damozzi connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Damozzi with a nice cross. Molski clobbers Damozzi with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Molski takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Damozzi pivots, looking for a leg kick but Molski is out of range and Damozzi settles back down. Frank Damozzi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. An inside leg kick from Damozzi misses. Damozzi takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Molski on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those. Molski scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nice takedown defense from Damozzi. No joy for Molski on that attempt. Damozzi connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Molski is looking to slow Damozzi down with leg kicks. Molski throws a jab but it's blocked by Damozzi. Molski throws a looping overhand right but Damozzi ducks down to avoid it. Damozzi punishes Molski's body with a nice straight punch. Frank Damozzi is winning the standup battle so far. Molski stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Damozzi. Damozzi throws a half hearted mid kick. Damozzi gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Molski to score an easy takedown into full guard. Molski trying to control the position from guard on top but Damozzi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Molski stopping the sweep attempt from Damozzi. Damozzi has control of Molski's left arm, preventing Molski from doing any damage. Damozzi keeping moving, preventing Molski from controlling successfully. Molski seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Molski throwing strikes from guard but Damozzi blocks nicely. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Molski throws a strike but Damozzi rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Molski trying to keep a closed guard but Damozzi is proving a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Damozzi preventing the sweep. Damozzi is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Damozzi looking to sit in guard and control but Molski gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Molski postures up and lands a big shot to Damozzi's brow. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Damozzi is on top in guard.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Martti Molski. I think Molski has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
