Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
20 - 11 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Paul Stampfer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Xavier Sykes!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sykes stuns Stampfer with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Stampfer with a nice cross.
It looks like Xavier Sykes has been cut.
Sykes cracks Stampfer with a right hand to the side of the head.
Stampfer scores with a jab to the head.
Stampfer darts in looking for a takedown but Sykes gets double underhooks and turns Stampfer into the ropes.
Stampfer darts in and clinches Sykes up against the ropes.
Stampfer misses with a hook to the ribs.
Stampfer is trying to force a seperation but Sykes has the dominant position.
Sykes misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Stampfer manages to break the clinch.
Paul Stampfer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Stampfer moves into the clinch successfully.
Sykes scores with a shoulder strike.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Sykes.
Sykes fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stampfer misses with some punches.
Sykes swings wildly with an uppercut but Stampfer uses good head movement to avoid it.
Stampfer working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Stampfer's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sykes connects with a looping right hand.

Sykes tries to clinch up.
Xavier Sykes is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Stampfer swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Stampfer lands a two punch combo.
Sykes throws a series of strikes that have Stampfer backpedaling.
Sykes is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Stampfer.
Sykes cracks Stampfer with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Stampfer tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Sykes pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Stampfer is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Xavier Sykes!
