Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Saku Jonson ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Project Three! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shirou Masuda and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Three darts in and clinches Jonson up against the cage. Three decides to pull guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Three pulls Jonson in close to his closed guard and prevents Jonson from doing any damage or advancing position. Three bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jonson 's guard. Three works a leg free and moves into half guard. Three content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Three thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jonson 's head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Three takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Three seems to be working for a kimura but Jonson defends the submission attempt. Jonson is looking to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Three takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Jonson is breathing heavily. Three scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Three slows the pace down in half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jonson has hold of Three's hands but Three slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Three stalling. Three is looking for a kimura but Jonson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Three to get the leverage. Three looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Three's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Three looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jonson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Project Three dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Three closes the distance and clinches. Jonson is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Three's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Three instigates a clinch. Three is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Jonson misses with a knee to the head. Three connects with a knee to the head.
Jonson wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Three gets control of Jonson 's arms and successfully pulls guard. Three will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Three is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Jonson trying to control the position from guard on top but Three is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Three seems keen to control Jonson 's posture. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jonson passes into half guard under a barage of strikes. Three kicks off Jonson and gets to his feet. Three closes the distance and clinches. Three is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. The referee calls for Three to work.
Three jumps guard.
Jonson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Three is on top in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Three is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Three is continuing to stall.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Three lands a couple of decent looking shots. Three showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Three advances to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Three stands up out of the half guard. Three fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jonson to the ground. Three is now in Jonson 's guard. Jonson is wriggling around but Three manages to pass to half guard.
Three moves nicely into side control. Three stands up and beckons Jonson to his feet. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Three chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Three shoots for a takedown but Jonson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Project Three showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Three drives through with a takedown into Jonson 's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Three sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jonson 's guard. Three frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Three has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Three controlling his opponent. Jonson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Three on the ground. Three lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Jonson tries to improve his position but instead Three has taken his back! We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Three has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Jonson is in real trouble here. Three gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Jonson is tapping out! Three wins by rear naked choke!
