Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jannick Schneider (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Rockhold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jannick Schneider! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luke Rockhold! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schneider looks to land a combination but Rockhold avoids it well. Jannick Schneider seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Schneider closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rockhold circles away. Schneider connects with an inside leg kick. Rockhold cracks Schneider with a good jab. Schneider throws a series of punches but Rockhold avoids them all with ease. Schneider tries a head kick but it misses.
Rockhold takes a kick to the side of the head. Schneider misses with a takedown attempt letting Rockhold counter with a right hand. Schneider throws a head kick but Rockhold moves out of range.
It seemed like Rockhold was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Schneider shoots in for a takedown but Rockhold shows good takedown defense. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jannick Schneider. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rockhold wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Schneider fails in his attempt to clinch. Rockhold appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Rockhold slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. This has been an exciting period of action! Rockhold closes the distance and clinches. Rockhold lands a hook that snaps the head of Schneider backwards. Good body shot from Rockhold.
Schneider is breathing heavily. Rockhold stalls.

Rockhold lands with a short head shot on the inside. Rockhold lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Schneider backwards. Rockhold pushes Schneider back against the ropes and lands a hook to the side of the head. Rockhold lands a right hand that snaps the head of Schneider backwards.
Schneider is rocked! Rockhold dips a shoulder and cracks Schneider with a mighty uppercut! Schneider falls back against the ropes and Rockhold unloads with a barrage of strikes! Schneider is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the ropes! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Rockhold screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Luke Rockhold! In his post fight interview, Luke Rockhold started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception. In defeat, Jannick Schneider stepped up to the mic, saying 'I'll come back better, stronger, and faster. You haven't seen the last of me!'.
