Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kanishka Lijikiszcz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oddis Slajos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kanishka Lijikiszcz had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kanishka Lijikiszcz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Oddis Slajos! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Atkins and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Slajos lands a jab to the nose. Slajos misses with a combination
and Lijikiszcz counters with a nice double leg into side control. Slajos won't be happy with that. Lijikiszcz is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Slajos has escaped the position, nice work there. Lijikiszcz creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Slajos sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Lijikiszcz wants to control but Slajos is keeping him busy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lijikiszcz fails to land a wild elbow strike.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Slajos sneaks back into half guard. Slajos wants to get back to full guard. Lijikiszcz wants to pass to mount but Slajos is defending the position. Lijikiszcz has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Lijikiszcz looking to control but Slajos is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Slajos regains half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Slajos blocking the ground and pound attempt from Lijikiszcz. Slajos gets full guard. Slajos looking for a sweep. Not yet Slajos, not yet. Lijikiszcz controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Slajos wants to sweep but no luck. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Slajos bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lijikiszcz's guard. Lijikiszcz lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Lijikiszcz throwing strikes but missing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lijikiszcz not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Lijikiszcz trying to control the position from guard on top but Slajos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Slajos avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Lijikiszcz in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Lijikiszcz throws an elbow that misses. Slajos uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Lijikiszcz's guard. Nice move by Slajos! Slajos scoring with some ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Lijikiszcz is trying to control the position from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lijikiszcz is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Slajos landing a few short strikes. Lijikiszcz is keen to just control but Slajos is a slippery customer. Lijikiszcz has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Slajos wants to improve his position but Lijikiszcz is controlling well.
Lijikiszcz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Slajos keeps working. Lijikiszcz prevents Slajos from improving his position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kanishka Lijikiszcz dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Slajos changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Slajos clinches up with Lijikiszcz and pushes him back against the cage. Slajos goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Slajos lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Slajos lands a body shot in the clinch.
Lijikiszcz's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Lijikiszcz fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Lijikiszcz shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Slajos defends it nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Slajos fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lijikiszcz, pushing him back against the cage. Slajos lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Slajos. Lijikiszcz tries to pull guard but Slajos holds him up against the cage and eventually Lijikiszcz drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kanishka Lijikiszcz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. A nice right hand lands inside from Slajos. Slajos has Lijikiszcz pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Slajos pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Lijikiszcz tumbling to the mat - Slajos dives into Lijikiszcz's guard. Kanishka Lijikiszcz overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Lijikiszcz not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Slajos connects with a couple of short punches. Slajos trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Slajos keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Lijikiszcz's head. Slajos throws a big elbow that misses. Lijikiszcz has his foot on Slajos's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Slajos works his way back into a safe position though. Slajos throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Slajos won't allow Lijikiszcz to sweep him here. Slajos has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Slajos is working Lijikiszcz over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Slajos throws a strike but Lijikiszcz rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Lijikiszcz trying to control but Slajos is working from the bottom.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Lijikiszcz wants to control but Slajos passes easily into half guard.

Slajos trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Lijikiszcz wants to sweep but no luck. Lijikiszcz controlling Slajos's posture. Slajos must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Oddis Slajos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Slajos smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
