Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Hans Zimmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quinten Ely (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hans Zimmer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Quinten Ely! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zimmer wants to clinch. Zimmer pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ely moves into range and clinches up with Zimmer. Ely stalling the fight.
Zimmer really is a fat lump. Ely tries to land knees in the clinch but Zimmer avoids the damage to the body. Ely lands an elbow just above Zimmer 's eye. Ely keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Zimmer's efforts to push away. Ely utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Zimmer breaks the clinch.
Zimmer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ely is fending him off so far but Zimmer persists. Nope, Ely circles away and we're back to standing. Ely wants to counter with a clinch but Zimmer pushes him away. Zimmer goes for a double leg but Ely avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Ely continues to drive forward.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ely fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Zimmer avoids it really well and circles away. A little feinted left hand from Zimmer on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Ely tries to score a power double leg takedown but Zimmer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ely somewhat. Ely shoots in looking for a takedown but Zimmer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ely's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Hans Zimmer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Quinten Ely. Ely tries to land a front kick but Zimmer steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Ely drives through and clinches with Zimmer against the cage.
Ely displaying some good clinch control by pressing Zimmer up against the cage. Zimmer tries a body shot but Ely blocks it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ely escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ely misses with a takedown attempt and Zimmer counters with a nice uppercut. Zimmer uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ely. Ely shoots and misses and Zimmer moves into the clinch. Zimmer manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Zimmer is breathing heavily. Zimmer looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ely trying to control but Zimmer is working from the bottom. Ely stands up from Zimmer's guard - Ely perhaps looking for a knockout. Ely is trying hard to land a takedown here. Zimmer sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ely shoots in for a takedown but Zimmer shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Ely has Zimmer up against the cage in a clinch.

Ely lands an elbow inside that Zimmer shrugs off. Ely breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Zimmer takes a knee to the side of the body. Ely lands an elbow just above Zimmer 's eye. Ely is trying to pull guard but Zimmer has him pressed against the cage. Ely leaning his opponent against the cage.

Ely misses with some punches.
Ely doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Ely manages to pull guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ely wants to get back to his feet but Zimmer is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Ely uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Ely drives through and clinches with Zimmer against the cage.
Zimmer takes an elbow to the forehead. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Quinten Ely dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Ely fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Zimmer changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Ely gets a clinch. Ely slowing the pace effectively. Ely has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Ely stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

That's one minute gone in the round. No luck for Ely with that takedown attempt. Ely defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Zimmer. Zimmer throws a sloppy head kick and Ely moves out of range easily. Ely shoots in for a takedown but Zimmer shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Hans Zimmer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Quinten Ely. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ely. A big left from Zimmer misses. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Ely has taken the fight to the clinch.
Ely pulls Zimmer into guard.
Ely looking for a sweep. Not yet Ely, not yet. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Zimmer trying to control the position from guard on top but Ely is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ely trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Ely scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Ely shoots for a takedown but Zimmer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Ely shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Zimmer's guard. Zimmer pushes Ely off and gets back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ely rushes Zimmer and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. A head punch on the inside from Ely fails to land. Ely creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Zimmer's defenses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Zimmer takes an elbow to the forehead. Knees to the body from Ely.
Ely lands a knee to the body.
Ely comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Ely pulls guard effortlessly. Ely is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Zimmer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ely has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Zimmer has managed to get both his arms back between Ely's legs - danger averted. Zimmer avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ely managing to control the position. Ely really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Zimmer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ely is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ely can do anything to dispel that myth. Ely working a defensive guard here.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Ely working for a triangle but Zimmer defends it easily.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Quinten Ely showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Zimmer is fending him off so far but Ely persists. Nope, Zimmer circles away and we're back to standing. Zimmer keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Ely dives in and grabs Zimmer's left leg, looking for a takedown. Zimmer pushes down on Ely's head and hops out. Hans Zimmer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Quinten Ely. Ely misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Ely shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Zimmer pinned against the cage. Zimmer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Zimmer swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Zimmer slaps away a takedown attempt from Ely, before circling back to the center of the mat. Hans Zimmer is winning the standup battle so far. Zimmer tries to keep at a distance but Ely has taken the fight into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zimmer has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Ely misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Quinten Ely seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Zimmer tries for a takedown but Ely manages to get underhooks.

Ely tries to pull guard but Zimmer holds him up against the cage and eventually Ely drops back down to his feet.

Quinten Ely seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ely rushes Zimmer and presses him up against the cage. Ely utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Ely landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Hans Zimmer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Ely tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Ely lands a damaging elbow. Ely manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Zimmer drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ely manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Zimmer has Ely in his guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Quinten Ely comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Ely winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
