The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pitoy tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Smith paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Smith wants to clinch.
Pitoy misses with a few strikes there.
Smith shoots for a double leg takedown but Pitoy sprawls well. He's pushed Smith's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Smith moves into the clinch.
Pitoy gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Smith.
Pitoy lands an elbow that stopped Smith in his tracks for a moment.

It looks like Chad Smith has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith prevents a body shot from Pitoy.
Pitoy creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Pitoy is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Pitoy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Smith circles away from the clinch attempt
and Smith connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Pitoy tries to bum rush Smith with a series of wild strikes but Smith uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Smith drops down looking for a counter takedown but Pitoy sprawls and moves away.

Smith rushes Pitoy and presses him up against the cage.
A right hook to the body lands for Pitoy.

Smith manages to break the clinch.
A chopping leg kick lands by Pitoy.
A punch combination from Pitoy misses.
Smith tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Pitoy takes the fight into the clinch.
Smith is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Pitoy pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Pitoy wants to break the clinch but can't.

Pitoy pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Pitoy has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Smith is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Pitoy pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Pitoy escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Chad Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pitoy tries to keep at a distance but Smith has taken the fight into the clinch.

Pitoy manages to break the clinch.
Smith takes one on the button.
Smith definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Pitoy slaps away a takedown attempt from Smith, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Pitoy throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Smith tumbling to the canvas!

Pitoy trying to stand up but can't free himself from Smith's guard.

Smith is working an open guard so Pitoy takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Pitoy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Smith manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Smith feinted with a counter takedown.
Smith doesn't manage to clinch there - Pitoy circles away.
Pitoy looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Smith fails in his attempt to clinch.
Pitoy pounces like a tiger and cracks Smith with a vicious hook! Smith is down but not out! Pitoy follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
