Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gustavo Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kimble Cho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gustavo Santos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 43 - 26 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Kimble Cho!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Anthony Taglia and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Santos shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Santos showed some decent athleticism there.

Santos stalling away here and it's allowed Cho to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cho is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Santos wants to pass the guard but Cho is keeping the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Cho feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Santos has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Cho has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

Cho has Santos pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Cho pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Santos tumbling to the mat - Cho dives into Santos's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cho wants to stand but Santos has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Santos had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cho defends it easily.

Cho would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Santos wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Cho wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Santos's closed guard. He's half up but Santos has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Santos pivots and extends the arm, Cho falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Santos! Well done that man!
