PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tantalus Flay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Flay has chosen Outerspace- Revolution as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Eddie Clark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 9 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tantalus Flay!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Flay throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Clark sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Clark is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Flay looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Clark lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Flay keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Clark has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Clark lands a lovely overhand right.
Flay fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Clark has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Clark slips under a jab.
Tantalus Flay seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Clark throws a leg kick which misses Flay's front leg but catches the back leg as Flay tries to avoid it.
Clark takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Clark steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Flay.
Clark throws a nice outside leg kick.
Flay on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Clark takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Flay throws a leg kick but Clark checks it.

Flay scores with a crisp jab that stopped Clark in his tracks.
Clark lands a really nice looking cross but Flay seems unphased.
Clark keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Flay.
A telegraphed right hand from Clark misses the target.
Clark lands a jab to Flay's midsection.
Flay chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Clark can pounce on him.
Flay throws a low kick but Clark avoids it.
Clark feinted there with a counter leg kick.
Clark misses with a jab, cross combination.
A jab from Flay does it's job there.
Flay throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Clark counters with a slapping leg kick.
Clark swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Flay throws a jab but it's blocked by Clark.
Flay misses with a left hand
and Clark counters with a lovely straight right hand!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Clark uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Flay.
It looked like Clark was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Flay throws out a loose jab but Clark uses good head movement to avoid it.
A big right from Flay misses.
Donk. Clark catches Flay right on the button with a cross.
Flay rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Clark moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
No luck for Flay with that takedown attempt.
Eddie Clark is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Flay throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Flay misses with a hook
and Flay takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Flay takes one to the side of the head.
Clark is looking to slow Flay down with leg kicks.
Clark walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Clark cracks the inside of Flay's front leg.
Flay stuns Clark with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Flay works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Flay throws a jab when Clark was well out of range.
Clark ducks under a wild hook from Flay.
Clark is looking to slow Flay down with leg kicks.
Flay takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Flay cracks Clark with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Flay throws a jab when Clark was well out of range.
Flay keeps the fight on the outside.
Clark pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Clark throws a series of punches but Flay moves out of range.
Clark scores with a sloppy right hand. Flay should have avoided that one.
Clark moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Clark slips under a jab from Flay.
Flay misses with a hook.
Flay looks to land a left hand but Clark moved out of range nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Flay misses with a body punch
enabling Clark to counter with a crisp jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Clark scoring well with a low kick there.
Clark uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Flay.
Clark chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Flay connects with a leg kick. Clark looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
A head kick misses from Clark.
Flay is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Clark.
Clark getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
A shot to the body from Flay misses
and Flay takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.


Flay is rocked!
Flay fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Flay throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Flay misses with an uppercut.
Flay throws out a powerful jab.
Flay feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Clark's calf.
Flay thumps Clark with a low kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Eddie Clark will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Flay walks straight into a right hand from Clark - that's dropped him! Clark jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Flay from any more punishment! Flay complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Eddie Clark!
A less than humble Eddie Clark misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
