Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matti Seppo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikko Lindstrom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Matti Seppo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mikko Lindstrom!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lindstrom throws a right and a left that both miss.
Lindstrom takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Lindstrom misses with a two punch combination.
Lindstrom looks gassed!

Seppo fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lindstrom sprawls well initially but Seppo persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Seppo seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Seppo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Well, if Seppo is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Seppo seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lindstrom for as long as he can get away with.
Lindstrom is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Matti Seppo just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Seppo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lindstrom looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Seppo is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Seppo tries for a kimura but Lindstrom is defending well.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lindstrom tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Seppo tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Lindstrom drops Seppo with a nice combination! Lindstrom dives into Seppo's guard, looking to finish!


It looks like Matti Seppo has been cut.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Matti Seppo just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Lindstrom throws a series of punches but Seppo moves out of range.
Seppo fails to land with a series of punches.
Lindstrom moves into range and throws a big uppercut. OH! Seppo goes down! Can Lindstrom finish him!?
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Seppo is on top in guard.
Seppo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Seppo's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Seppo wants to pass the guard but Lindstrom is keeping the position.
Seppo content to stall in guard here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Seppo trying to control the position from guard on top but Lindstrom is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Lindstrom misses with a double jab.
Lindstrom rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Seppo moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Lindstrom on the wrong end of a nice hook.


It looks like Mikko Lindstrom has been cut.

Seppo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Seppo in particular looking to stall.

Seppo lands a heavy elbow.
Seppo scoring with strikes but Lindstrom is staying in there.
Seppo looking to control and managing it successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Mikko Lindstrom will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Lindstrom closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Seppo fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lindstrom, pushing him back against the cage.
Lindstrom wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Seppo has him pressed against the cage.
The is referee keeping an eye on Seppo - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Seppo goes for a takedown in the clinch but Lindstrom prevents it.
Seppo prevents Lindstrom from breaking the clinch.
Lindstrom can't break the clinch.
Lindstrom being controlled against the cage.
Seppo goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Lindstrom is trying to break the clinch but Seppo has him pressed against the cage.
Seppo lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Lindstrom wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Seppo slows down the pace here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lindstrom tries to break the clinch but Seppo is controlling the position.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Seppo manages to pull guard.
Seppo lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Lindstrom!

Lindstrom wants to try and get back to his feet.
Lindstrom takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Seppo postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lindstrom looks a forlorn figure.

Lindstrom is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Lindstrom taking shots to the head.
Seppo sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Lindstrom is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Seppo controlling the position easily from mount.
Seppo putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

And that's the end of the fight!
Matti Seppo showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Seppo has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
