Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeffrey Mcclain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paulius Budrevicius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jeffrey Mcclain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Paulius Budrevicius!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksandr Martynov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Budrevicius moves in looking to clinch but Mcclain pushes him off.
It looked like Mcclain was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Budrevicius.
Budrevicius pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Budrevicius drives through with a takedown into Mcclain's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Budrevicius has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Mcclain is proving hard to escape from.
Budrevicius advances position into side control!
Mcclain could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Budrevicius gets to mount! Mcclain was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Budrevicius wants to finish this one by submission but Mcclain is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Budrevicius.

Budrevicius looking to ground and pound but Mcclain is blocking nicely.

Budrevicius goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Mcclain turns into him and now he's in Budrevicius's guard.

Budrevicius wants to control the position but Mcclain says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Mcclain trying to control the action but Budrevicius is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Budrevicius wants to control but Mcclain is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Budrevicius tries to get to full guard but Mcclain has control of the leg.

Budrevicius pushes Mcclain off and gets back to his feet.
Budrevicius fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Mcclain on the side of the head.
Budrevicius tries to bum rush Mcclain with a series of wild strikes but Mcclain uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mcclain appears to be looking for a big counter.

A punch combination from Budrevicius misses.
Mcclain shoots in for a takedown but Budrevicius shows good takedown defense.
Budrevicius throws a leg kick which misses Mcclain's front leg but catches the back leg as Mcclain tries to avoid it.

Budrevicius throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mcclain tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Budrevicius is in Mcclain's guard.

Mcclain working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Budrevicius doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Budrevicius manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Budrevicius throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mcclain works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Budrevicius won't allow Mcclain to sweep him here.
Budrevicius trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Mcclain is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Budrevicius slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Mcclain.

Budrevicius stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Budrevicius tries to clinch but Mcclain is having none of it.
Sloppy strikes from Budrevicius. Those never looked like landing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paulius Budrevicius dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Mcclain shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Budrevicius pinned against the cage. Budrevicius gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Mcclain throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Budrevicius dives in and scores a takedown into Mcclain's guard.

Budrevicius decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Budrevicius throws a right and a left that Mcclain avoids nicely.
Mcclain is looking to counter punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Budrevicius closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Budrevicius lands in his opponent's guard.
Budrevicius is stalling in the full guard.

Mcclain is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Budrevicius trying to control the position from guard on top but Mcclain is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mcclain is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Budrevicius must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Budrevicius accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Mcclain keeping moving, preventing Budrevicius from controlling successfully.
Budrevicius looking to pass the guard.
Budrevicius has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Mcclain is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Budrevicius is looking for a sweep. Mcclain is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Budrevicius is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Paulius Budrevicius has got the better of the ground game so far.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mcclain thows a huge punch but Budrevicius dodges it nicely.
Budrevicius is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Mcclain landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Budrevicius is trying to get back to full guard.
Mcclain performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Budrevicius throws a lazy head kick

and Mcclain counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Budrevicius gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mcclain.
Mcclain misses with a punch to the body.
Mcclain tries to pull guard but Budrevicius holds him up against the cage and eventually Mcclain drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeffrey Mcclain. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Budrevicius jumps guard.
Budrevicius is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Mcclain looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paulius Budrevicius showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Mcclain takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Budrevicius tries to clinch up but Mcclain circles away and keeps his distance.

Budrevicius closes the distance and pushes Mcclain back into the cage.
Budrevicius is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Budrevicius tightens his grip and picks Mcclain up, before dumping him to the ground. Mcclain manages to land in guard.
Mcclain tries to land a sweep but no joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Budrevicius pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mcclain is keeping the position for now.
Budrevicius is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Budrevicius decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mcclain, up you get!

Budrevicius gets the takedown into side control.

Mcclain sneaks out the side door and pushes Budrevicius away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Budrevicius tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mcclain paws at him with a jab and circles away.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Mcclain wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Budrevicius escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Budrevicius doesn't manage to clinch there - Mcclain circles away.

Mcclain gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Budrevicius is pushing down on Mcclain's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mcclain is fighting to maintain full guard but Budrevicius has managed to sneak the leg through.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Budrevicius in particular looking to stall.
Mcclain might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Mcclain gets full guard.
Mcclain bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Budrevicius's guard.

Budrevicius trying to keep a closed guard but Mcclain is proving a slippery customer.
Mcclain lands a couple of digs.
Mcclain content to stall in guard here.

Mcclain avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Budrevicius takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Mcclain controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Mcclain seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Budrevicius for as long as he can get away with.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Budrevicius looking for a guillotine here but Mcclain defends easily.
Mcclain scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

I would just about give that final round to Paulius Budrevicius.
Well Budrevicius has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
