Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Robin Van Bastet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bikram Kunwar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Van Bastet comes to the cage accompanied by Skrillex - Fuck That. Bikram Kunwar is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Robin Van Bastet! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bikram Kunwar! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Van Bastet throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Van Bastet shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Kunwar as he avoids it easily. Kunwar drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Van Bastet defends it well. Van Bastet throws a leg kick that is checked and Kunwar counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Kunwar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Van Bastet keeps working. Kunwar wants to free his trapped foot but Van Bastet is holding on for dear life with his legs. Kunwar seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Van Bastet has recovered full guard. Kunwar wants to get up but he can't break Van Bastet's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Kunwar thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kunwar trying to control the position from guard on top but Van Bastet is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've been hearing good reports from Van Bastet's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Van Bastet wants to sweep but no luck.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kunwar stands up from Van Bastet's guard - Kunwar perhaps looking for a knockout. Kunwar takes one to the chin there. Van Bastet lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Van Bastet throws a head kick that misses and Kunwar counters with a shoot takedown. Van Bastet fights it but they end up in guard. Kunwar looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Kunwar tries to free his leg and advance position but Van Bastet is retaining full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kunwar drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kunwar jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Kunwar trying to control the position from guard on top but Van Bastet is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kunwar passes Van Bastet's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Kunwar takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Kunwar works his way into side control. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Kunwar tries for a kimura but Van Bastet is defending well. Kunwar tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kunwar has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Van Bastet is trying to control Kunwar's posture but Kunwar avoids it. Kunwar is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Van Bastet has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Van Bastet's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Kunwar wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Van Bastet, who protects the arm well. Kunwar lands an elbow. Kunwar is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Van Bastet knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Van Bastet tries to strike from the bottom but misses. Kunwar looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Kunwar wants to lay and pray for a moment but Van Bastet keeps working.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kunwar is trying to get an arm triangle but Van Bastet is defending well. Kunwar is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Van Bastet knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Van Bastet sneaks back into half guard. We've been informed that Kunwar has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Kunwar wants to work for an arm triangle but Van Bastet is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Kunwar seems to be working for a kimura but Van Bastet defends the submission attempt. Kunwar is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Van Bastet defends it well. Kunwar is looking for a kimura but Van Bastet is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kunwar to get the leverage. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bikram Kunwar dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Kunwar ducks under a wild hook from Van Bastet. Van Bastet misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Van Bastet throws a hook to the side of Kunwar's head but Kunwar sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Kunwar moves away from the strike by Van Bastet. Van Bastet closes the distance and clinches up with Kunwar, looking for a takedown. Van Bastet pushes Kunwar against the cage but Kunwar circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Van Bastet throws an off balance right hand
and Kunwar decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Van Bastet's guard. Kunwar pushing down on Van Bastet's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Kunwar frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Van Bastet really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Van Bastet works his way back into a safe position though. Kunwar is trying to control the position but Van Bastet postures up. Kunwar has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Kunwar avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Van Bastet wants to get up but he can't break Kunwar's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Bikram Kunwar has got the better of the ground game so far. Kunwar lands a couple of shots from the bottom.

Kunwar trying to control the position from guard on top but Van Bastet is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kunwar slips nicely into half guard. Kunwar is working for a kimura but Van Bastet is defending it quite comfortably.
Kunwar is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Van Bastet is not content to let Kunwar control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Van Bastet has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kunwar is working away from the top position though. Van Bastet is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kunwar pulls his head out easily. Van Bastet is trying to maintain the position but Kunwar is very close to passing his half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kunwar is looking for a kimura but Van Bastet is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kunwar to get the leverage. Kunwar trying to control from half guard but Van Bastet is working away. Kunwar is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Van Bastet wants to get back to his feet. Kunwar is taking a breather. Van Bastet says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Kunwar in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Van Bastet tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Kunwar!
