Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sammy Boyd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Holden Easterly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Easterly connects with a good right hand that stumbles Boyd. Boyd circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

It looks like Holden Easterly has been cut.
A slapping leg kick lands for Boyd.
Boyd throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

It seemed like Easterly was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Boyd tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Easterly paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Easterly has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Boyd has hold of one of Easterly's legs. Easterly is fighting the takedown attempt but Boyd gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Easterly manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Boyd has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Easterly is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Boyd tightens his grip and picks Easterly up, before dumping him to the ground. Easterly manages to land in guard.
