Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Timmy Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Orwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). George Orwell looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Timmy Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, George Orwell!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Marco Blurström and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Orwell shoots and misses

and Jones counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Orwell looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Jones engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Jones has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jones gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Orwell stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Orwell wants it to stay on the feet.

Orwell swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Jones shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Orwell is trying to defend but Jones finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Orwell is looking to get back to is feet but Jones passes into side control.
The referee asks Jones politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Jones prefers to stall for the moment though.
Jones scores with punches from side control.
Jones happy to just control the position for now.

Jones is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Orwell has escaped the position, nice work there.

Jones takes a little break here. Orwell wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
This is a sustained period of stalling by Jones.
Jones's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Further stalling from Jones.
Jones seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Orwell for as long as he can get away with.
Orwell prevents Jones from moving into mount.
Jones trying to control the position but Orwell is working away.

Jones decides to stand up, so the ref orders Orwell to his feet.
We've been informed that Orwell has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Orwell tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range.
Jones avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jones feinted with a counter takedown.
Jones shoots in for a double leg but Orwell sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Jones decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Jones looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jones drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Jones won't allow Orwell to sweep him here.
Orwell being controlled here, momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Orwell is breathing heavily.

Jones continues to stall.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones connects with a couple of short punches.

Jones drops back looking for a leg! Orwell is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Orwell manages to kick Jones off! Jones jumps back into Orwell's guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Nice takedown defense from Orwell. No joy for Jones on that attempt.
Orwell moves to clinch but Jones breaks away

and Jones counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jones slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Orwell is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Jones controls from within his opponent's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jones might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Orwell is working an open guard so Jones takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Orwell throws a right and a left that both miss.

Jones shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Jones showed some decent athleticism there.
Still in half guard, Jones seems content to control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Timmy Jones dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Jones shoots in and bounces Orwell off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Orwell wants to stand up but Jones is controlling him.
Jones sitting in guard here, content to control.
Orwell takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jones gets to his feet. Orwell looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Orwell gets caught napping as Jones dives in and scores a takedown. Orwell manages to retain guard.

Jones scoring with some ground and pound.

Jones stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Jones shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Orwell is trying to defend but Jones finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Jones controlling his opponent.

Jones lands a couple of good shots and Orwell has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Jones is landing with strikes. Orwell can't take much more of this.
Jones is riding his opponent, not letting Orwell buck him off.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Jones is stinking the place up with his stalling.
Jones is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Orwell. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.
Jones just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jones lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Jones.
I would not like to be Orwell right now.
Jones punishes Orwell with strikes from the back mount.
Jones just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
George Orwell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Timmy Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

And that's the end of the fight!
Timmy Jones showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
