1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Albert DeSalvo! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blaze swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Blaze paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Santana Blaze seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice sprawl there from Blaze as DeSalvo shoots in. Some wild striking there from Blaze.
DeSalvo with the counter takedown but Blaze avoids it easily. Blaze with a jab. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Blaze pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Blaze swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
DeSalvo changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. A jab lands there for Blaze. Blaze is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. Jab, jab by Blaze - just one landing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blaze throws a looping overhand right but DeSalvo ducks down to avoid it. DeSalvo moves away from the strike by Blaze. Blaze stuffs the takedown. Blaze fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

And DeSalvo tries to counter it with a takedown but Blaze pushes his down on his head and steps out. Blaze connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Blaze smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
That's two minutes gone in the round. DeSalvo feints and as Blaze raises his hands in defense, DeSalvo changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. DeSalvo prevents Blaze from getting back to his feet. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Blaze keeping moving, preventing DeSalvo from controlling successfully. DeSalvo drops back looking for a leg! Blaze is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Blaze manages to kick DeSalvo off! DeSalvo jumps back into Blaze's guard. Blaze wants to stand and escape but DeSalvo is having none of it. DeSalvo pushing down on Blaze's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. DeSalvo with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. DeSalvo is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
DeSalvo is working for a kimura but Blaze is defending it quite comfortably.
Blaze knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for DeSalvo on the ground.
