Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
13 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Valdez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
13 - 11 - 2, fighting out of London, Head Coach! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Paul Tew and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A shot to the liver by Coach. Beautiful body shot. Valdez gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Coach shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Valdez is looking for a triangle but Coach pushes his legs off easily.
Coach engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Coach stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Valdez swivels though and keeps the full guard. Coach's corner is telling him to maintain position. Coach passes into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Valdez trying to control from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round. Coach performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Coach lands with a punch from half guard. Valdez is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Coach scores with a couple of nice shots. Coach performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Coach slips a nice elbow through Valdez's hands, connecting with Valdez's forehead. Coach missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Coach not doing much here.
Coach is nestled in close to Valdez, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Valdez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Coach is working away from the top position though. Coach prevents Valdez from improving his position. Coach content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Coach takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Coach keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Coach landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Coach is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Coach looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Valdez with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Coach is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Valdez! Valdez is in a horrible position here. Coach smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Coach cracks Valdez with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Valdez is rocked! Coach unloading with bombs! Oh Valdez is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Coach blocks Valdez's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Coach has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at English Top Team - THE Hybrid Gym (11 ELITE ). Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Valdez is breathing heavily. Coach controlling from the full mount. Coach is landing with some decent strikes but Valdez is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Coach looking to control and managing it successfully. Coach connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Coach tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Coach lands a big elbow - Valdez is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Valdez is forced to tap out!
