Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Valdez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 2, fighting out of London, Head Coach!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Paul Tew and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the liver by Coach. Beautiful body shot.
Valdez gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Coach shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Valdez is looking for a triangle but Coach pushes his legs off easily.
Coach engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Coach stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Valdez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Coach's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Coach is nestled in close to Valdez, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Valdez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Coach is working away from the top position though.
Coach prevents Valdez from improving his position.
Coach content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Coach takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Coach keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Coach landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Coach is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Coach looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Valdez with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Coach is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Valdez!
Valdez is in a horrible position here. Coach smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Coach has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at English Top Team - THE Hybrid Gym (11 ELITE ). Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
