Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ben Goldberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Happy Day (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Happy Day is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ben Goldberg! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Happy Day! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Goldberg uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Day.
Goldberg shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Day as he avoids it easily. Day throws a head kick but Goldberg moves out of range.

Goldberg shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Day as he jumps to the side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ben Goldberg. That's going to take a lot out of him. Day tries to close the distance and clinch up but Goldberg swats him away and circles back towards the center. Goldberg shoots for a takedown but Day saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Day throws a head kick that misses. Day tries to clinch but Goldberg is having none of it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Day looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Day lands a high kick to the side of Goldberg's head that stuns him and send him tumbling down to the canvas! Day dives into guard, looking to finish.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Day closes the distance and lands a one-two. Goldberg is breathing heavily. A kick lands to the mid section there for Day. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Day connects with a high kick.

Goldberg avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Day tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Goldberg closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Day tries to get to full guard but Goldberg has control of the leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Goldberg landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Goldberg looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Day with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Day is looking to control Goldberg's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Day avoid being mounted? Day is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Goldberg pulls his head out easily.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Nice sprawl there from Day as Goldberg shoots in. Day throws a sloppy head kick and Goldberg moves out of range easily. Day lands with a slapping head kick. Goldberg looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Day is fending him off so far but Goldberg persists. Nope, Day circles away and we're back to standing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Day scores with a body shot.

Happy Day is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Day listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Goldberg has a takedown stuffed. Goldberg closes this distance looking for a takedown but Day circles away. Happy Day seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Day throws a body punch but Goldberg moves out of range. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Goldberg looks for a takedown but Day sprawls well. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. A head kick misses from Day. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Happy Day dominated that round. The cut man is working on Ben Goldberg's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Goldberg missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Day avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Goldberg with a flurry of punches that miss. Day is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Day working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Goldberg. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Day is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Day looking to hit a scissor sweep but Goldberg is one step ahead there. Day doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Goldberg accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Goldberg has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Day is proving hard to escape from. Day is trying to keep Goldberg in close.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Day throws a head kick but Goldberg moves out of range.

That was a bit too telegraphed. Goldberg fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Day sprawls well initially but Goldberg persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Goldberg seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Day does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Goldberg drops an elbow to the side of Day's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are battling for position here. Day manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Goldberg is sitting in close to Day's body. Day has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Goldberg is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Goldberg is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Day.
