Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Toney Reed! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Frederik Fillmore! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fillmore instigates a clinch. Fillmore tries to pull guard but Reed forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Reed stops a takedown attempt from Fillmore.
Reed pulls Fillmore into guard.
Reed manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Fillmore manages to get himself to full guard.
Fillmore pulls Reed in close to prevent any damage. Fillmore keeping moving, preventing Reed from controlling successfully. Reed seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Reed might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fillmore seems keen to control Reed's posture. Reed wants to control from the top but Fillmore keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fillmore wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Reed stopping the sweep attempt from Fillmore. Reed stays in close to Fillmore's body and controls the position. Fillmore pulls Reed in close to his closed guard and prevents Reed from doing any damage or advancing position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Reed accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Fillmore is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Reed throwing strikes but missing. Fillmore can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Reed controls the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Reed wants to control from the top but Fillmore keeps moving.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Fillmore doesn't succeed with the takedown and Reed counters with a low kick, right behind Fillmore 's knee. Toney Reed has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frederik Fillmore. Fillmore shoots and misses and Reed counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Reed fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Fillmore to the ground. Reed is now in Fillmore's guard. Reed cracks Fillmore with a solid left hand. Reed seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Fillmore has Reed pulled in close to control his posture.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fillmore avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Reed could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Reed's corner is telling him to maintain position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Fillmore can do anything to dispel that myth. Fillmore is adopting a defensive guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Reed has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Reed wants to control from the top but Fillmore keeps moving.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Fillmore tries for a takedown but Reed circles away easily and Reed counters with a lovely shot to the body. Fillmore tries to clinch up but Reed circles away and keeps his distance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Fillmore shoots and misses and Reed counters with a nice body shot. Fillmore fails with the takedown and Reed counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Fillmore looks winded! Fillmore tries for a takedown but Reed circles away easily and Reed counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Fillmore gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Reed counters with a left and a right that stings Fillmore. Reed closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Reed pulls guard. Fillmore looking to sit in guard and control but Reed gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Fillmore passes Reed's right leg, so he's now in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Toney Reed dominated that round. The cut man is working on Toney Reed's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Fillmore tries to clinch and Reed counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Fillmore looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Reed! Reed throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! Frederik Fillmore seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Fillmore tries to clinch but Reed moves away and Reed counters with a three punch combo that has Fillmore backing up. Fillmore nods at Reed to acknowledge the strikes. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Fillmore shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Reed as he jumps to the side. Reed scores with a push kick. Fillmore fails with the takedown and Reed comes in over the top with a devastating right hand! Fillmore stumbles back against the cage, looking to regain his senses but Reed is on him like rabid pit bull! Fillmore slumps to the ground under a storm of punches and this fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Toney Reed!
