Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Halo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zhengtao Wei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zhengtao Wei has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Michael Halo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zhengtao Wei!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Robert Douchet and Gregory Folan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halo throws a nice inside leg kick.
Wei takes one on the chin but seems OK.


It looks like Zhengtao Wei has been cut.

Wei ducks under a wild hook from Halo.
That kick from Halo tenderised Wei's leg. Wei is trying to keep his angry face on.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Halo.
Nice cross by Halo.
Wei misses with a straight left.
Wei uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Halo.
Halo throws a lazy uppercut
and Wei counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
A low kick from Wei is predictable there
and Halo counters with a nice uppercut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Halo looks for the body kick but Wei saw that one coming.

Wei throws a lazy right hand but Halo sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Michael Halo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wei tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Halo was well out of range. Poor timing from Wei.

Halo throws a hook but Wei avoids it easily.
Wei is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

Halo just misses with a punch to the body.

Wei drops Halo with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Halo looks back up at him and smiles so Wei waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Halo checks a leg kick.
A little feinted left hand from Halo on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Halo swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

and Wei counters with a single leg into guard. Halo didn't expect that.

Halo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Wei's guard.


Wei working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Halo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Halo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Halo wants to stand but Wei has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Halo looking to sit in guard and control but Wei gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Halo has his hands on Wei's head, controlling the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Wei throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Wei is working Halo over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Wei postures up in Halo's guard and throws a big left but Halo blocks it.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Halo has his hands on Wei's head, controlling the position.
Wei trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Zhengtao Wei will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Halo throws a lazy right hand but Wei sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Wei lands a nice leg kick that just misses Halo's sensitive parts.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wei fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Halo has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Wei slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Halo listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wei moves away from the strike by Halo.
Halo misses with a low kick.
Wei drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Halo defends it well.

Wei missing with a left hand there. Halo was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Wei tries to land a front kick but Halo steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Halo swings widly with a right hand
enabling Wei to counter with a crisp jab.
Michael Halo is winning the standup battle so far.
Halo misses with a looping right.
Halo cracks Wei with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Wei falls to his knees and Halo doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michael Halo!
During a confident post fight interview, Michael Halo thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
