Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Frank Dux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Jefferies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Frank Dux has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Dux!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jim Jefferies!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Luis Engracia and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dux moves out of range of the leg kick from Jefferies.
Jefferies swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A solid leg kick lands there for Jefferies.
Jefferies scores with a head kick. Dux tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.


It looks like Frank Dux has been cut.
Dux throws a lazy head kick

and Jefferies holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Jefferies drops down looking for an ankle pick but Dux pulls his leg out and moves away.
Dux throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Jefferies staying out of range there.
Dux is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Dux misses with a kick to the body.
Decent striking displayed by Dux there.
Dux sizes up Jefferies with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Dux looking to land some kicks to the body here.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jefferies takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Dux throws a sloppy head kick and Jefferies moves out of range easily.
Dux throws a combination. Jefferies tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
A nice leg kick lands there from Jefferies.
Dux takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dux looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Dux tries a head kick but it misses.

Dux takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Jefferies moves away from the strike by Dux.
Jefferies lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Jefferies moves out of range as Dux strikes.
Good shot there by Jefferies.

Jefferies moves into the clinch.
Jefferies creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Dux's defenses.
Jefferies creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Jefferies has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Jefferies changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Dux fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Jefferies will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Jefferies drives through and clinches with Dux against the cage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Dux.
Dux avoids a wild elbow strike from Jefferies.
Dux tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Jefferies's elbow.

Jefferies has Dux pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Jefferies pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Dux tumbling to the mat - Jefferies dives into Dux's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Jefferies gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Dux throws a head kick that half lands.
Dux throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nice defenses there by Dux.
We've been told by Dux's head coaches at Midnight MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Jefferies clinches.
Jefferies manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Dux struggles to land a body shot inside as Jefferies controls his hands.
Dux misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Dux avoids the elbow strike from Jefferies, against the cage.
Jefferies lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Jefferies holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Dux scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Dux lands an elbow inside that Jefferies shrugs off.
Jefferies pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Dux swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Dux obliges.

Jefferies has Dux pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Jefferies pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Dux tumbling to the mat - Jefferies dives into Dux's guard.
Dux wants to stand and escape but Jefferies is having none of it.
Dux is looking to stand back up but Jefferies counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Dux.

Jefferies is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Jefferies trying to control the action but Dux is working from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jefferies prevents Dux from standing back up.

Dux has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Jefferies is on him like a limpet, forcing Dux back against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dux pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Dux trying to land knees to the body.
Jefferies takes an elbow to the forehead.
Dux throws a knee to the head but misses.
Jefferies lands an elbow inside that Dux shrugs off.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Dux just misses with a elbow thrown towards Jefferies's brow.
A head punch on the inside from Dux fails to land.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dux tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Jefferies avoids it.
Dux avoids the elbow strike from Jefferies, against the cage.
The referee is keeping an eye on Jefferies - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Jefferies lands a nice elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jim Jefferies will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Frank Dux's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Jefferies tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dux was well out of range. Poor timing from Jefferies.

Dux wants to get back to his feet.
Jefferies moves into full mount! Dux won't be happy about that!

Jefferies jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Dux manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Jefferies tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Jefferies trying to control the action but Dux is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dux pushes Jefferies away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Jefferies gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Dux knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jefferies on the ground.

Jefferies thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Jefferies has hold of Dux's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Dux seems comfortable defending it but Jefferies has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Dux is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Dux is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Jefferies couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jim Jefferies!
Our winner, Jim Jefferies, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
