Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gary McLovin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barney Wehmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gary McLovin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Barney Wehmer! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, David Hoff and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wehmer throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. McLovin was covering up waiting for the punch and Wehmer finishes the takedown easily into guard. McLovin looking for a sweep. Not yet McLovin, not yet. Wehmer distracts McLovin with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Wehmer cracks McLovin with a solid left hand. Wehmer is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Wehmer trying to control but McLovin is working from the bottom. Wehmer landing some decent shots from guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wehmer postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wehmer wants to pass the guard but McLovin is keeping the position. Wehmer with a nice head shot there. Wehmer with a nice head shot there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wehmer is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Wehmer scoring with punches to the head and body. Wehmer with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Wehmer postures up and lands a big shot to McLovin's brow. Wehmer working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of McLovin's head. Wehmer content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Wehmer is working McLovin over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. McLovin has momentary wrist control but Wehmer slips an elbow through the middle.
McLovin is rocked! Wehmer slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Oh McLovin is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! McLovin is breathing heavily. Wehmer in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Wehmer cracks McLovin with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Wehmer immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! McLovin is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Wehmer!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Barney Wehmer! Barney Wehmer was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
