The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roller thows a body shot but no joy. Karaev shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Roller but Roller pushes him off and we're back to square one. Karaev shoots for a takedown but Roller saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Roller tries to keep at a distance but Karaev has taken the fight into the clinch. Karaev wants to break the clinch but can't.
Roller pushes Karaev back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Roller breaks the clinch.
Roller shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Karaev is looking for a sweep. Roller is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Karaev is defending against the submission attempts here by Roller.
Roller moves nicely into side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Karaev tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Roller presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount! Karaev is working to get back to half guard.

Roller landing shots from mount. Roller breaks from Karaev's wrist control and lands an elbow. Karaev wants to hold on but Roller pushes him away. Karaev in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Karaev is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Roller with shots to the head and body - Karaev looks very uncomfortable down there. Roller in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Roller lands a big shot there that rocks Karaev but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Karaev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Roller. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Roller breaks from Karaev's wrist control and lands an elbow. Karaev defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Roller. Roller dominating with strikes here. Roller controlling from the full mount. Roller working the ground and pound effectively.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roller unloading with bombs! Karaev tries to hold on but Roller pushes him away. Roller controlling the position easily from mount. Roller landing strikes, looking to finish! Karaev keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Roller cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

That's four minutes gone in the round. Roller landing punches. Roller controlling his opponent. Roller postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Karaev looks a forlorn figure.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Roller trying to control but he's not successful this time. Karaev really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Roller misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Roller is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Karaev tries to free his leg and advance position but Roller is retaining full guard. Karaev stands up from guard. Roller turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Roller manages to end up in side control. Karaev is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Roller's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Karaev is looking for a sweep. Roller is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Roller is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Roller working the ground and pound effectively.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Roller has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Karaev's face.
Roller is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Karaev can do to turn this around? Roller scoring with strikes but Karaev is staying in there. Roller raining down shots from the mount! Roller working away from the top, dropping strikes. Roller is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Karaev has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Karaev! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Roller wants to stand up but Karaev is controlling him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Roller moves into the clinch. Roller lands an elbow that stopped Karaev in his tracks for a moment. Roller is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Karaev gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Roller is trying to break the clinch but Karaev has him pressed against the cage. Karaev prevents the takedown attempt.
Karaev tries to pull guard but Roller holds him up against the cage and eventually Karaev drops back down to his feet.
Roller wants to break free but Karaev has control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Roller is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Karaev tries to stall but Roller uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Roller tries to land knees in the clinch but Karaev avoids the damage to the body. Karaev changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Roller fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Roller circles away from the clinch attempt and Roller counters with a head kick. That will keep Karaev thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
That's one minute gone in the round. Karaev shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Karaev showed some decent athleticism there. Roller wants to get back to his feet.

Roller throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Karaev stops Roller from standing up. Roller is trying to control the position but Karaev postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Karaev scores a takedown into full mount! Roller might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Roller sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Karaev is trying to control the action in half guard but Roller is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Karaev throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Roller slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Karaev looking to sit in guard and control but Roller gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Roller scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Karaev avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Roller gets to his feet - Karaev follows without any prompting. Roller scores with a takedown into Karaev's guard. Karaev tries to strike from the bottom.
Roller stands and steps away. Karaev gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Aaron Roller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Roller shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Karaev tries to hold on but Roller pushes him away. Roller with the ground and pound from mount. Roller controlling the pace for now.

Roller landing strikes from the mount and Karaev is in trouble! Roller takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Roller lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning. Roller landing strikes from the mount. Sergey Karaev has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Aaron Roller is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Aaron Roller overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Karaev is trying to escape the mount.
And that's the end of the fight! Aaron Roller showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Roller, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
