Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Your Down! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mister Hotline! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Taro Takaoka and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Down keeps the fight on the outside. As Hotline tries to get set, Down tries to push him back and clinch up but Hotline manages to avoid the attempt. The fight stays on the outside here - Hotline looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Down tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Hotline manages to circle out of the way. Down avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Down wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Hotline moves in looking to clinch but Down pushes him off. Down attempts a counter takedown but Hotline avoids it well and moves away. Hotline clinches. Down is trying to drag Hotline to the mat but Hotline just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Still in the clinch, Hotline scores with a nice short uppercut. A head punch on the inside from Hotline fails to land. Down is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Hotline is defending well. Hotline trying to stall but Down improves his position.

Down has clasped his hands together around Hotline's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Hotline is trying to get back to his feet. Down decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hotline to his feet. Hotline pushes Down up against the ropes in a clinch. Hotline throws a head punch that misses. Down wants to take the fight to the mat but Hotline manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Your Down. That's going to take a lot out of him. Down has Hotline pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Hotline manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Down drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Hotline. Down goes for a takedown attempt but Hotline pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Hotline closes the distance and pushes Down back into the ropes. Down drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hotline pulls his leg out and moves away.
Hotline takes the fight into the clinch.

Hotline lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Hotline prevents a takedown attempt there.
Hotline lands with a left to the head. With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Hotline creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Down has Hotline pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Hotline manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Hotline lands with a light punch inside. Hotline misses with a short punch on the inside. Down tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Hotline avoids it. Down is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Hotline is defending well. Hotline lands a shoulder strike. Down has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Hotline avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Down is working for takedown but Hotline is calmly controlling the position for now. Down is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Hotline. Oh Down is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Hotline pushes Down back against the ropes and lands a hook to the side of the head. Hotline misses with some punches.
Hotline swings wildly with an uppercut but Down uses good head movement to avoid it. Hotline dips a shoulder and cracks Down with a mighty uppercut! Down falls back against the ropes and Hotline unloads with a barrage of strikes! Down is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the ropes! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Hotline screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mister Hotline! In his post fight interview, Mister Hotline started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
