The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marsh is looking to clinch but Kandle is avoiding it.
Kandle tries to counter with a clinch but Marsh shakes him off and moves away. Kandle rushes Marsh and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Kandle wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Kandle is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Marsh keeps control of Kandle as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Marsh can't find room to land a body shot as Kandle controls the action.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kandle is trying to force a seperation but Marsh has the dominant position. Marsh prevents Kandle from breaking the clinch. Marsh breaks from the clinch.
Kandle looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
That's one minute gone in the round. Marsh dives in for a single leg takedown but Kandle sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Marsh really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Marsh misses with a head kick.
Kandle moves into the clinch. Kandle wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Marsh presses Kandle against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Kandle wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Kandle looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Kandle misses with a body punch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. A nice left hand lands by Kandle.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kandle working hard to break the clinch. Kandle has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marsh pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Marsh has his takedown stuffed and Kandle counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kandle. Marsh gets through Kandle's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Kandle wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Marsh has him pressed against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kandle scores with a nice hook to the head. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Marsh is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Marsh has Kandle pressed against the cage, preventing Kandle from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Marsh pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kandle clinches up with Marsh and pushes him back against the cage. Kandle can't break the clinch.
Kandle blocks an uppercut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kandle is trying to break the clinch but Marsh has him pressed against the cage. Marsh breaks from the clinch.
Kandle throws a left that rocks Marsh and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Kandle dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Marsh regain composure!
Marsh is rocked! Kandle scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Marsh is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Kandle can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
