Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeffrey Mcclain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and King Cobra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King Cobra has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jeffrey Mcclain's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jeffrey Mcclain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, King Cobra!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Aleksandr Martynov and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cobra looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Mcclain!

Cobra stands up.

Cobra closes the distance and clinches.

Cobra breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Cobra closes the distance but Mcclain moves to the side
and Mcclain makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cobra changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mcclain looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Mcclain tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cobra wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Cobra throws a strike aimed at the side of Mcclain's head but Mcclain avoids it well.

Cobra stands up and beckons Mcclain to his feet.

Cobra moves into the clinch.

Mcclain avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Cobra looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Mcclain passes into side control.

What's Cobra going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
Cobra looking for a sweep but Mcclain has passed into full mount! Oh no!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Cobra tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Mcclain raining down shots from the mount!
Mcclain avoids the attempt from Cobra to control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cobra tries to reverse the position but Mcclain maintains control.
Mcclain controlling the position easily from mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

King Cobra dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Cobra dives in and scores a takedown into Mcclain's guard.
Cobra stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mcclain swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Cobra slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Mcclain is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cobra throws an elbow that misses. Mcclain uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Cobra's guard. Nice move by Mcclain!

Mcclain is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Cobra has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Cobra is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Cobra doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Cobra has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Mcclain has passed into side control.

Cobra tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mcclain wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
You can see the frustration on Cobra's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Mcclain prevents Cobra from improving his position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Cobra wants to clinch up but Mcclain keeps it at a distance.
Cobra tries a head kick but it misses.
Cobra fails in his attempt to clinch.

It looks like Jeffrey Mcclain has been cut.

A quick step to the side and Mcclain tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Cobra is breathing heavily.

Cobra shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mcclain manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mcclain is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cobra defends well.
Mcclain wants to sweep here but Cobra controlling him for the moment.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Cobra throws a big right hand that misses.

King Cobra showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Jeffrey Mcclain's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Cobra tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mcclain paws at him with a jab and circles away.
King Cobra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cobra fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mcclain takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Cobra goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Mcclain has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Cobra but great work by Mcclain.
Mcclain lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Cobra down.

Cobra wants to get back to his feet but Mcclain is dominant here and he's now got Cobra's back!

Cobra is trying to get back to his feet but Mcclain has full control of the position and if anything, Cobra has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Mcclain is not going to allow Cobra to sit and survive in this position.

Cobra is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Mcclain is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
