Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joao Sousa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maddox Madman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maddox Madman is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sousa darts in trying to clinch
and Madman counters with a nice uppercut.
Sousa tries to clinch but Madman moves away
and Sousa takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Madman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Sousa is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
It looks like Joao Sousa has been cut.
Madman has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Sousa moves to clinch but Madman breaks away
letting Madman counter with a right hand.
Madman scores with a hook.
Sousa closes the distance and clinches.
Sousa successfully pulls guard.

Madman throws an elbow that misses. Sousa uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Madman's guard. Nice move by Sousa!

Sousa thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Madman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sousa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Sousa stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Madman swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sousa is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Sousa tries to free his leg and advance position but Madman is retaining full guard.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Madman cracks Sousa with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Madman has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Madman sizes up Sousa with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Sousa wants to clinch but Madman slips to the side
enabling Madman to counter with a crisp jab.

and Madman counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Sousa tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Madman counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Sousa darts in and clinches Madman up against the cage.

Madman is trying to force a seperation but Sousa has the dominant position.

Madman is trying to push Sousa away but Sousa has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Madman misses with the head strike.
Sousa manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Madman not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Madman drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Sousa right on the button. Sousa goes down! Madman follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Madman gets the win via TKO!
