Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Ellis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sig Farkenheil!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ellis tries to grapple but his opponent circles
enabling Farkenheil to counter with a crisp jab.
Ellis tries to clinch there but Farkenheil circles away.
David Ellis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ellis fails in his attempt to clinch.
Farkenheil is looking for the big counter here.
Farkenheil keeps the fight on the outside.
Farkenheil wants to counter the offense by Ellis and move into the clinch position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Farkenheil is trying to trip Ellis. He has hold of a leg but Ellis is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Farkenheil persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Ellis manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ellis tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Farkenheil breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Farkenheil shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ellis defends it nicely.

Farkenheil is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Farkenheil escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Ellis tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Farkenheil manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ellis looks to land a combination but Farkenheil avoids it well.
David Ellis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Ellis scores with the left hand. Farkenheil knows he should have avoided that one.


It looks like Sig Farkenheil has been cut.
Ellis throws a push kick but Farkenheil slaps the foot to one side.

Farkenheil tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

and Farkenheil counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Farkenheil gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Ellis is pressed up against the cage. Farkenheil has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ellis down to the mat. Ellis avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Ellis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Farkenheil swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Ellis stuffs the takedown attempt from Farkenheil. Farkenheil gets slowly back to his feet.
Ellis wants to clinch up but Farkenheil keeps it at a distance.

Farkenheil fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ellis, pushing him back against the cage.

Farkenheil breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ellis tries to clinch there but Farkenheil circles away.
Ellis tries to land a front kick but Farkenheil steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Ellis tries to clinch up.

Farkenheil darts in and clinches Ellis up against the cage.
Ellis is trying to break the clinch but Farkenheil is controlling him.
Ellis pushes off an throws an elbow but Farkenheil leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Farkenheil breaks from the clinch.
Ellis checks a leg kick nicely.
Farkenheil fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ellis avoids it really well and circles away.
Ellis lands a jab to the nose.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ellis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Farkenheil swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Farkenheil avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Farkenheil looks to land a right hand but Ellis moved out of range.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Farkenheil.

Ellis wants to get back to his feet but Farkenheil drags him back down.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Sig Farkenheil will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Ellis throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Farkenheil tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ellis sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Farkenheil somewhat.
Farkenheil avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Sig Farkenheil seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Farkenheil darts in looking for a takedown but Ellis gets double underhooks and turns Farkenheil into the cage.
Ellis works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Ellis tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Farkenheil counters with a takedown into side control.

Ellis throws Farkenheil to one side and escapes!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ellis cracks Farkenheil with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Ellis throws an overhand right that drops Farkenheil like a sack of potatoes! Ellis dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). David Ellis!
A less than humble David Ellis misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
