Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Daren Spencer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Toga Bean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daren Spencer has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daren Spencer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Toga Bean!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bean shoots for a takedown but Spencer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Bean shoots in but no luck this time.
Spencer tried to counter with a leg kick but Bean avoided it.
Bean misses with a takedown

and Spencer counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Daren Spencer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Toga Bean.
Spencer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bean works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Bean has his foot on Spencer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Spencer works his way back into a safe position though.
Spencer postures up in Bean's guard and throws a big left but Bean blocks it.

Bean is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Spencer defends well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Spencer wants to control from the top but Bean keeps moving.

Spencer looking to sit in guard and control but Bean gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


Bean drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bean jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Bean is looking for a kimura here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bean seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Bean looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bean looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Spencer pushes Bean off looking to stand but Bean dives back in and keeps control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Spencer has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bean is working away from the top position though.
Spencer is trying to escape back to his feet but Bean uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Bean is looking to take a break and control but Spencer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Toga Bean dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Bean feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Bean tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Bean has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Spencer is not content to let Bean control the position.

Bean shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Spencer but Spencer pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Spencer tries to counter with a takedown but Bean is quick to defend against it.
Spencer shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bean defends it nicely.

Bean fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Spencer to the ground. Bean is now in Spencer's guard.
Spencer is trying to control the position but Bean postures up.
Bean has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Spencer has momentary wrist control but Bean slips an elbow through the middle.

Bean stands up and waves to Spencer to follow him.
Bean tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Spencer swivels and escapes.
As Bean tries to get set, Spencer tries to push him back and clinch up but Bean manages to avoid the attempt.
Bean looks for a takedown but Spencer sprawls well.

Bean wants to take the fight to the mat but Spencer manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Spencer has Bean pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Spencer pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Bean tumbling to the mat - Spencer dives into Bean's guard.

Spencer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bean has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Spencer has managed to get both his arms back between Bean's legs - danger averted.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Bean is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Toga Bean showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Spencer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bean's waist but Bean gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Spencer off to one side.
Toga Bean is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bean shoots in but Spencer avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Bean closes the distance and clinches.

Bean is fighting off a takedown attempt but Spencer is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Bean to the mat. Bean regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Bean is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Bean managing to block the knees to the body from Spencer.
Bean is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Spencer is defending well.
Bean has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Spencer is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Bean takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Spencer tries a body shot but Bean blocks it.
Bean jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Spencer walks away with a smile on his face. Bean gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Spencer gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Spencer escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bean shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Spencer but Spencer pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Spencer misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Spencer shoots for a double leg takedown but Bean sprawls well. He's pushed Spencer's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Bean drives through with a takedown into guard.
Bean is standing up over Spencer. Spencer looks to escape but Bean dives into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Bean lands an elbow.
Spencer regains half guard.
Spencer is refusing to be controlled, as Bean sits in half guard.
Bean winds up and cracks Spencer with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bean tries to pass to full mount but Spencer defends it.
Spencer is trying to stand back up but Bean is controlling him
Spencer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bean on the ground.

Bean is working for a kimura but Spencer is defending it quite comfortably.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Still in half guard, Bean seems content to control.
Spencer tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bean throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Spencer to regain full guard.
Toga Bean is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Bean slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Spencer trying to keep a closed guard but Bean is proving a slippery customer.

Bean stands up from Spencer's guard - Bean perhaps looking for a knockout.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Bean is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Spencer's half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Toga Bean comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Bean winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
