Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quinten Ely (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Antonio Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Quinten Ely!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ely tries to clinch up
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Ely clinches with his opponent.
Ely is pushing Diaz up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Diaz is trying to stall.

Diaz is trying to break the clinch but Ely is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ely tries to land knees in the clinch but Diaz avoids the damage to the body.

Diaz lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Ely drops down looking for an ankle pick but Diaz pulls his leg out and moves away.
Ely shoots in looking for a takedown. Diaz tries to sprawl out of it but Ely keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Diaz manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Quinten Ely seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ely tries to close the distance and clinch but Diaz swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Diaz counters with a three punch combo that has Ely backing up. Ely nods at Diaz to acknowledge the strikes.

Ely changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Diaz tries to avoid it but Ely manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Diaz to the ground. Diaz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Diaz tries to keep at a distance but Ely has taken the fight into the clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ely creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Ely pushes off an throws an elbow but Diaz leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Ely is trying desperately to land a takedown but Diaz is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Ely.

Diaz stalks Ely and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Ely's face. Ely staggers backwards, shaken.

Diaz pushes Ely away with a front kick.

Diaz feints a jab promting Ely to slip. Diaz then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Ely slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee is keeping an eye on Ely - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Ely chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Diaz can pounce on him.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Diaz, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
