Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Remy LeBeau! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
17 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Yogi Dhamma! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dhamma with a poor takedown and LeBeau counters with a straight right hand. Dhamma tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. LeBeau manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Dhamma avoids a punch combination nicely.
Dhamma misses with a combination
and LeBeau counters with a straight right hand. Dhamma throws a right hand that LeBeau ducks under and follows up with a left that LeBeau also avoids with ease. LeBeau misses with a jab, cross combination.
We've been hearing reports that LeBeau has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. LeBeau scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Good shot there by LeBeau. Dhamma misses with a body kick. LeBeau misses with a looping right. Dhamma tries for a takedown but LeBeau circles away easily and LeBeau makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. LeBeau lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. LeBeau cracks Dhamma with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Dhamma throws a right and a left that both miss. LeBeau connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. LeBeau scores with a three punch combo!
That's one minute gone in the round. Dhamma drops his hands momentarily and LeBeau takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. Dhamma takes a body punch but keeps moving. Dhamma will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
LeBeau blocks a low kick nicely. LeBeau fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. LeBeau's jab looks to have found its range, popping Dhamma under the eye. Dhamma looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Nice defenses there by Dhamma. LeBeau drops Dhamma with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Dhamma looks back up at him and smiles so LeBeau waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Dhamma is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! LeBeau circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Dhamma tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! LeBeau wins by KO!
