Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tank Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Shannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shannon tries to land a body kick
and Shamrock counters with a stiff right hand.

Shamrock moves out of range as Shannon strikes.
Shamrock lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Shamrock definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Shamrock comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Shannon jabs Shamrock right on the nose. Shamrock blinks but takes it well.
It looks like Tank Shamrock has been cut.

Shamrock throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Shannon, as that shot connected.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Shamrock's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Shannon connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Shamrock scrambles back to his feet.
Shamrock lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Jeez, Tank Shamrock's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Shannon swings for the body but Shamrock moves out of range.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Shamrock gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Shannon takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Shannon slips a straight right by Shamrock.
Shannon goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Shannon dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Tank Shamrock's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Shannon tries to grapple but his opponent circles
enabling Shamrock to counter with a crisp jab.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Tank Shamrock's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
