Taylor comes into the arena with Bow Down blaring out of the sound system. Maya Chigg has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jordan Taylor's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chigg misses with a body kick.
Taylor throws a counter high kick but Chigg was just alert enough to avoid it.
Chigg fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Taylor checks it well.
Taylor swings for the body but Chigg moves out of range.
Chigg sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Chigg misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Taylor thinks about countering with a body kick.
Taylor goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Taylor takes one to the chin there.
Taylor misses with a wild body shot.
Taylor scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Chigg doesn't seem bothered though.

Chigg lands a right hook to the body.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Taylor is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Chigg.

Chigg throws a hook but Taylor avoids it easily.

Taylor throws a right hand that Chigg ducks under and follows up with a left that Chigg also avoids with ease.
Chigg tries to clinch but Taylor is having none of it.

Taylor clobbers Chigg with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Chigg.
Taylor avoids the head kick by Chigg.
Chigg looks for the body kick but Taylor saw that one coming.
Taylor swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Chigg ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Taylor moves away.
Taylor dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Chigg. That did some damage!

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Chigg creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
