The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fliehr tries to clinch up but Cheryshev circles away and keeps his distance.

Cheryshev has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

and Fliehr counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Yuri Cheryshev has been cut.

A looping hook to the body misses from Cheryshev. Fliehr does a little dance to reset his feet.
Cheryshev fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Cheryshev ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Fliehr is breathing heavily.
Fliehr clinches up with Cheryshev and pushes him back against the cage.

Cheryshev escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Cheryshev fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Fliehr looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
No joy there for Cheryshev, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Cheryshev throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Fliehr stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Cheryshev lands a big uppercut and Fliehr crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Fliehr looks OK. Cheryshev waves Fliehr back to his feet!
Cheryshev lands a left and a right that send Fliehr crashing to the mat, dazed. Cheryshev thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Fliehr is rocked!
Cheryshev ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Oh Fliehr is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Fliehr circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Cheryshev. Fliehr falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Cheryshev!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Yuri Cheryshev!
