Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Antero Rokka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregory Scarpa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rokka comes to the cage accompanied by Twilight Guardians - Out of Our Hands. Gregory Scarpa has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 32 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Antero Rokka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gregory Scarpa!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Ben Watson and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scarpa takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Rokka scores with a jab. Scarpa acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Nice sprawl there from Rokka as Scarpa shoots in.
Scarpa swings widly with a right hand
and Rokka counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
A jab from Rokka finds it's way through Scarpa's defenses.
Rokka slaps away a takedown attempt from Scarpa, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Rokka appears to be looking for a big counter.

Scarpa closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rokka to the mat! Rokka manages to get full guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rokka is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Scarpa defends well.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Rokka manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Our sources have told us that Rokka has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.

Rokka breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rokka ducks under a wild hook from Scarpa.
Scarpa fails with a takedown attempt.
Antero Rokka has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gregory Scarpa.
A jab lands there for Rokka.
Rokka looks for a takedown but Scarpa sprawls well.
Rokka tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Scarpa defends well and Rokka ends up having to push Scarpa into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Rokka throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Rokka crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Scarpa - the referee stops the clock and Rokka gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Scarpa. Rokka manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Scarpa shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Scarpa was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Scarpa is pressing down on Rokka's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rokka is holding on for now.

Rokka wants to control but Scarpa is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Scarpa lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Scarpa tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rokka knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Rokka wants to control but Scarpa is keeping busy.
Scarpa prevents Rokka from standing back up.
Rokka scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Scarpa manages to mount him!
Scarpa postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Rokka looks a forlorn figure.

Rokka wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Scarpa moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Rokka has worked his arm free - good work by Rokka!
Rokka tries to buck Scarpa off but Scarpa is having none of it.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Antero Rokka will probably get the nod.
That's time! Rokka's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Scarpa doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Rokka counters with a nice uppercut.

Scarpa throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
It looked like Rokka wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Scarpa misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Gregory Scarpa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rokka dives in and grabs Scarpa's left leg, looking for a takedown. Scarpa pushes down on Rokka's head and hops out.

and Rokka counters with a head kick. That will keep Scarpa thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Scarpa dives in and grabs Rokka's left leg, looking for a takedown. Rokka pushes down on Scarpa's head and hops out.

Rokka is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Scarpa sees it coming and defends easily.

Scarpa is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rokka's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rokka's back!
Rokka is really stuck here.

Scarpa is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Rokka defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Scarpa is striking well from the back but Rokka escapes and manages to control the positon and works his way to half guard. A much better position - the crisis is over for the time being.

Scarpa is stalling here. Rokka is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Scarpa seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Rokka has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Rokka is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Scarpa is looking to reverse the position.
Scarpa takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Scarpa clobbers Rokka with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Scarpa has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Rokka avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Rokka has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Scarpa off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rokka is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Rokka.
Gregory Scarpa has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Rokka buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

and Rokka counters with a stiff right hand.
Rokka swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Scarpa looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rokka is fending him off so far but Scarpa persists. Nope, Rokka circles away and we're back to standing.
Scarpa takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Scarpa takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Antero Rokka is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Scarpa goes for a double leg but Rokka avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Rokka continues to drive forward.
It looked like Rokka wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Scarpa fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Rokka avoids it really well and circles away.

Rokka connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Scarpa momentarily.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

And that's the end of the fight!
Antero Rokka showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rokka, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A less than humble Antero Rokka misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
