Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Fredric Delgado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Shimmy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Bob Shimmy was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Fredric Delgado! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Bob Shimmy! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Winston Alpacca and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Shimmy is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Delgado doesn't succeed with the takedown enabling Shimmy to counter with a crisp jab. Delgado shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shimmy as he avoids it easily. Delgado with a lazy takedown attempt and Shimmy connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fredric Delgado. That's going to take a lot out of him. Delgado will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Shimmy looks like he wants to counter punch here. Shimmy changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Delgado shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Shimmy is trying to defend but Delgado finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Shimmy has his hands clasped together around Delgado's back. He's all about the action. Delgado looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Delgado is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Shimmy defends it well. Delgado is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shimmy is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Shimmy is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment. Shimmy is not content to let Delgado control the position. Shimmy is looking to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Delgado is trying to work for a kimura but Shimmy is defending well.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Delgado is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Delgado is trying to control the action in half guard but Shimmy is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Delgado prevents Shimmy from standing back up.
Shimmy is looking for a sweep. Delgado is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Shimmy can do anything to dispel that myth. Delgado is keen to just control but Shimmy is a slippery customer.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Shimmy swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Delgado. Delgado fails with the takedown and Shimmy counters with a nice body shot. Shimmy paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bob Shimmy dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Shimmy has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Shimmy tests Delgado's chin there with a solid looking shot. Shimmy slips a jab from Delgado. Shimmy dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Delgado shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Shimmy sprawls well. Shimmy wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Delgado gets slowly back to his feet. Shimmy digs a good hook to Delgado's body.

Delgado misses with a takedown and Shimmy counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shimmy throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Delgado on the side of the head. Delgado shoots for a double leg takedown but Shimmy sprawls well. He's pushed Delgado's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fredric Delgado. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Shimmy lands a body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round. Shimmy scores with a sloppy right hand. Delgado should have avoided that one. Shimmy comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Shimmy scores with a one two! Delgado had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Nice body punch from Shimmy. Shimmy lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Shimmy catches Delgado with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Bob Shimmy seems to be getting the better of the standup. No joy there for Shimmy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Shimmy rushes Delgado and presses him up against the cage. A nice right hand lands inside from Shimmy. This has been an exciting period of action! Shimmy digs a right hand into Delgado's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Delgado's gas tank. Shimmy is pushing Delgado up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Shimmy scores with a nice hook to the head. Shimmy gets through Delgado's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Shimmy scores with a shoulder strike. Shimmy lands with a short punch from the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Shimmy lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Shimmy lands an uppercut. Shimmy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Shimmy gets a clinch. Shimmy scores with a shoulder strike. Shimmy is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Shimmy lands on the inside with an uppercut. Shimmy makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Bob Shimmy seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far. Shimmy is struggling to control the position. Shimmy leaning his opponent against the cage. Shimmy lands with a right to the head. Shimmy lands an uppercut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shimmy's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Shimmy cracks Delgado with a right hand to the side of the head. The fighters circle momentarily. Shimmy darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Delgado is rocked! Shimmy circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Delgado to the canvas! Delgado doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Shimmy keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bob Shimmy! A very excited looking Bob Shimmy rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
