Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Masaaki Kanagawa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Knezevic Siesztrzewitowski! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Santiago Holmes and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Siesztrzewitowski ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kanagawa moves away. Siesztrzewitowski throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Kanagawa was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Siesztrzewitowski throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Siesztrzewitowski throws a lazy uppercut
letting Kanagawa counter with a right hand. Siesztrzewitowski lands with a hook. Kanagawa tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Siesztrzewitowski misses with a body punch
enabling Kanagawa to counter with a crisp jab. Kanagawa misses with a straight right. Kanagawa misses with a straight left. Siesztrzewitowski uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Kanagawa. Siesztrzewitowski takes a swing at Kanagawa's ribcage but misses. Kanagawa fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Kanagawa looks to land a right hand but Siesztrzewitowski moved out of range. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Siesztrzewitowski! But no joy. Siesztrzewitowski misses with a hook to the body
and Kanagawa counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Siesztrzewitowski lands a jab to the nose. This has been an exciting period of action! Kanagawa throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Siesztrzewitowski's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Kanagawa dives in looking to finish as Siesztrzewitowski flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Kanagawa's strikes! Kanagawa is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Siesztrzewitowski's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Siesztrzewitowski was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Masaaki Kanagawa!
