Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matsufubu Rofuru (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sinhjo Babalu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rofuru comes to the cage accompanied by Tetsuya Komuro - Speed 2. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matsufubu Rofuru! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sinhjo Babalu! The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Babalu scores with a leg kick.
Babalu misses with a head kick.
Rofuru drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Babalu tries to improve position but can't. Rofuru happy to just control the position for now. I wouldn't like to be where Babalu is right now. Babalu sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Babalu is not content to let Rofuru control the position. Babalu slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Babalu looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rofuru is one step ahead there. Rofuru slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Rofuru wanted to stand there but Babalu had control of the position. Babalu is trying to control the position but Rofuru postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Rofuru makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Rofuru trying to control the position from guard on top but Babalu is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Babalu manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Babalu wants to control the action but instead Rofuru gets a body lock and reverses into Babalu's guard! Nice work! Babalu throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Rofuru controlling from the top position. Rofuru trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rofuru is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Babalu throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Babalu had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Rofuru is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Babalu Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Rofuru's back instead. Babalu misses with an elbow to the head. Babalu tries to get the hooks in deep but Rofuru pushed the leg off. Rofuru wants to control his opponent's hands but Babalu gets his hands free.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Babalu is trying to stick to Rofuru's back but Rofuru is turning into Babalu. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Babalu's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Rofuru. Rofuru content to stall in guard here. Rofuru looking to sit in guard and control but Babalu gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Babalu pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rofuru is keeping the position for now. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Babalu trying to control but Rofuru is working from the bottom. Babalu passes easily into side control. Nice work. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Matsufubu Rofuru will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Rofuru changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Babalu tries to avoid it but Rofuru manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Babalu to the ground. Babalu escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Babalu tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rofuru paws at him with a jab and circles away. Babalu tries to clinch up. Rofuru shoots in but Babalu avoids the takedown attempt easily. Rofuru drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Rofuru thows a big elbow that misses. Babalu punching to the body, from the bottom. Babalu looking for a sweep. Not yet Babalu, not yet. Rofuru trying to control but Babalu is working from the bottom. Babalu tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Babalu has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Rofuru is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Babalu. The referee asks Rofuru politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Rofuru prefers to stall for the moment though. Babalu tries to bench press Rofuru off him but Rofuru keeps the position. Babalu wants to control but Rofuru postures up. Babalu is looking for a sweep. Babalu is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Rofuru's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Babalu is breathing heavily. Rofuru is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Rofuru controlling the pace. Rofuru looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Babalu trying to control from the bottom.
Rofuru tries to pass the half guard into mount. Babalu knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Rofuru is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Babalu trying to control here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Babalu trying to get back to full guard but Rofuru takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Babalu is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Babalu bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Rofuru manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Rofuru lands with some strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Babalu keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Babalu is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Rofuru controlling the position easily from mount. Babalu is trying to escape the mount.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Matsufubu Rofuru dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Rofuru shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Rofuru won't allow Babalu to sweep him here. Babalu bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rofuru's guard. Babalu drops back, looking for a kneebar! Rofuru looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Rofuru looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Rofuru! Babalu tries to bench press Rofuru off him but Rofuru keeps the position. Rofuru slows the pace down.
That's one minute gone in the round. Babalu tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rofuru wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Babalu takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Babalu gets back to half guard. Babalu moves into full guard.
Rofuru has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Babalu wants to sweep but no luck. Rofuru not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Babalu tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Rofuru content to stall in guard here. Babalu tries to land a sweep but no joy. Rofuru is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Rofuru stopping the sweep attempt from Babalu. Matsufubu Rofuru overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Babalu lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Rofuru circles away from the clinch attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Babalu tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rofuru swats him away and circles back towards the center. Babalu fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rofuru sprawls well initially but Babalu persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Rofuru throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Rofuru regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Babalu. Rofuru working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Babalu. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Babalu trying to control the position from guard on top but Rofuru is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Babalu throwing strikes but missing. Babalu postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rofuru looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Rofuru controls Babalu momentarily but Babalu frees himself. Sinhjo Babalu has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Babalu is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Babalu throws a head kick but Rofuru moves out of range.
Rofuru cracks Babalu with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Matsufubu Rofuru is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Rofuru scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
And that's the end of the fight! Matsufubu Rofuru showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rofuru, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
