Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Milan Kent! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ranger Culguy! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Alyssa Summers and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kent doesn't manage to clinch there - Culguy circles away.
Kent wants to clinch up but Culguy keeps it at a distance. And Culguy responds with a good body kick, but Kent manages to step out the way in time. Kent keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. No luck for Culguy with that takedown attempt. Culguy gets tackled into the cage by Kent. Kent maintains the clinch. Culguy throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kent manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Kent working a defensive guard here.
Culguy is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kent controls Culguy momentarily but Culguy frees himself. Kent is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Kent pulls Culguy in close to prevent any damage. Kent working for a triangle but Culguy defends it easily.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Culguy goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Culguy has managed to clinch.
Culguy is trying to break the clinch but Kent has him pressed against the cage. Kent breaks the clinch.
Culguy shoots in and drives through. Kent sprawls well. Milan Kent has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ranger Culguy. Culguy looks winded! Kent clinches with his opponent.
Culguy tries for a takedown but Kent manages to get underhooks.
Kent has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Culguy regains guard immediately. Culguy tries to land a sweep but no joy. Kent looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Culguy controls Kent momentarily but Kent frees himself.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kent controls from within his opponent's guard. Culguy preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Kent controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Kent shoots in for a takedown but Culguy shows good takedown defense. Culguy tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Kent defends well and Culguy ends up having to push Kent into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. A head kick by Culguy misses and Kent holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Culguy stalling in the clinch but Kent improves position. Kent manages to break the clinch.
Ranger Culguy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kent fails to land with a series of punches.
And Culguy tries to counter it with a takedown but Kent pushes his down on his head and steps out. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kent wants to clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Milan Kent dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Culguy takes a swing at Kent's ribcage but misses. Kent pushes Culguy up against the cage in a clinch. Kent is trying to pull guard but Culguy has him pressed against the cage. The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Kent tries to pull guard but Culguy holds him up against the cage and eventually Kent drops back down to his feet.

Culguy fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Kent is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Culguy can do to turn this around? Culguy is breathing heavily. Kent slaps away a takedown attempt from Culguy, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kent throws a nice looking combination but Culguy bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Kent gets in close and instigates a clinch. Kent breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Culguy darts in and clinches Kent up against the cage. Kent's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Milan Kent is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Kent throws a head kick that misses and Culguy counters with a stiff right hand. Culguy closes the distance and pushes Kent back into the cage. Kent tries to pull guard but Culguy holds him up against the cage and eventually Kent drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Milan Kent. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kent pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Culguy forces Kent back against the cage and clinches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kent has picked Culguy up - he's going for a ride! Kent dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Culguy manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Kent keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. This has been an exciting period of action! Kent pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Kent fails in his attempt to clinch. Culguy circles away from the clinch attempt.
Culguy unleashes a big counter combination but Kent bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Culguy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kent's waist but Kent gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Culguy off to one side. Kent dives in for a single leg takedown but Culguy sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Kent tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Kent shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Culguy's guard. Culguy being controlled here, momentarily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kent accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Milan Kent overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Kent showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Kent has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Culguy throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Culguy throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Culguy keeping moving, preventing Kent from controlling successfully. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Kent showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Milan Kent will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Still in the clinch, Culguy scores with a nice short uppercut. Kent wants to break the clinch but can't.
Kent tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Culguy smiles and moves away.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Culguy. Culguy avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kent misses with a takedown attempt - Culguy sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Culguy raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kent tries to close the distance and clinch but Culguy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Milan Kent is winning the standup battle so far. Culguy takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Culguy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. As Culguy tries to get set, Kent tries to push him back and clinch up but Culguy manages to avoid the attempt. Culguy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
That's one minute gone in the round. Culguy keeps the fight on the outside. Kent tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Culguy avoids a punch combination nicely.
Culguy shoots in but Kent avoids the takedown attempt easily. Kent drops down looking for a counter takedown but Culguy sprawls and moves away. Kent doesn't manage to clinch there - Culguy circles away.
Kent pushes Culguy up against the cage in a clinch. Kent tries to score a body lock takedown but Culguy shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Kent has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Culguy after a bit of a struggle. Culguy is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Kent is defending well.

Kent can't keep his opponent in guard - Culguy advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Culguy with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Culguy walks forward, straight into a front kick from Kent. Culguy is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Culguy closes the distance and clinches. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kent breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Culguy shoots in for a takedown but Kent shows good takedown defense. Ranger Culguy has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Milan Kent is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Kent moves in looking to clinch but Culguy pushes him off.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Ranger Culguy. Well Kent has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
