Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Felix Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Mcmannus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Felix Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Mcmannus! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Matheus Silva and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mcmannus throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Mcmannus moves in looking to clinch but Jones pushes him off. As Mcmannus looks to move away, Jones throws a big counter combo but Mcmannus just gets out of the way. Jones avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jones rushes Mcmannus and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Jones ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Jones no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones pulls Mcmannus in to control the position. Jones wants to stand and escape but Mcmannus is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Jones has his foot on Mcmannus's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mcmannus works his way back into a safe position though. Mcmannus really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Jones is adopting a defensive guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones is adopting a defensive guard. Jones has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mcmannus can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Mcmannus trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Mcmannus trying to control but Jones postures up.
Mcmannus wants to get back to full guard. Mcmannus is trying to escape back to his feet but Jones uses the scramble to pass into side control.
A lull in the action here. Jones has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Jones turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Jones manages to end up in side control. Jones working the ground and pound. Mcmannus tries to get back to half guard but can't. A lull in the action here as Jones stalls from top position. Jones landing a few strikes. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mcmannus stops Jones from passing to mount. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jones feints and as Mcmannus raises his hands in defense, Jones changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Mcmannus is looking to stand back up but Jones counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Mcmannus. Mcmannus wants to control but Jones is keeping busy.

Jones lands strikes from half guard. Jones is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Mcmannus has managed to free his arm - good work. Jones tries to pass the half guard into mount. Mcmannus knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Jones is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Jones content to control rather than advance. Mcmannus is looking to control Jones's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Mcmannus avoid being mounted? Well, if Jones is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jones works his way into side control. Mcmannus trying to remain calm as Jones controls from the top position. Jones decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mcmannus to his feet. Mcmannus shoots in and bounces Jones off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Jones uses the cage to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones drives through with a takedown into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Jones not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Jones trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Jones preventing the sweep. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mcmannus can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jones controls the pace. Jones's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Felix Jones dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Mcmannus shoots in but Jones avoids the takedown attempt easily. Jones throws a hook but Mcmannus avoids it easily. Mcmannus unleashes a big counter combination but Jones bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Jones has Mcmannus up against the cage in a clinch.
Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Jones looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Jones performing his best blanket impression for a moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Mcmannus is looking to get back to is feet but Jones passes into side control.
Jones advances nicely into full mount. Jones swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Mcmannus is now in Jones's guard. A big mistake from Jones there, giving up the dominant position! Jones looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Jones pushes Mcmannus off and gets back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Mcmannus escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Jones gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Jones sitting in guard here, content to control. Jones seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mcmannus for as long as he can get away with. Mcmannus working a defensive guard but Jones manages to pass into side control anyway.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Jones is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Mcmannus knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Jones scoring with punches from side control. A lull in the action here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mcmannus is trying to work for a sweep but Jones has mounted him!
And that's the end of the fight! Felix Jones showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jones, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
